It’s been exactly a year since my last proper race.
Oh it felt good to be back today 🏃🏼‍♀️
Fresh start, new club @brighton_phoenix , positive vibes 🫶🏼❤️ with some awesome teammates 😍🏃🏼‍♀️‍➡️
Fitness is coming back quicker than I expected.
Big thanks to @matt_hodgson_coaching for the strength workouts and nutrition guidance that I have continued with throughout the year. 💪🏼
Goodwood 10k in 38:37 today and 1st female ❤️

Brussels for the beer festival & diamond league athletics. We said we’d always go back when it fell on the same weekend. Back 7 years later 👋🏼 🍺 🏃🏼‍♀️

Crazy that you don’t know when your last competitive race will be 🏃🏼‍♀️
Over 1.5 years with horrible Achilles tendinitis but super proud of my 15 years of hard running training and my PB’s along the way.
I’ve been so busy with work over the last year (which I have absolutely LOVED) that it hasn’t really bothered me that I haven’t been able to race or take training as seriously. And been able to spend more time on the strength side of things instead.
It’s actually been a joy to step back from the grind of feeling like I needed to run ‘X’ miles a week or do ‘X’ number of training sessions per week to try and gain fitness for the next race. And then to potentially not run well on race day and put myself down even though it could have been a factor of reasons.
Anyone out there still competitively running & racing, just remember your own personal why for running, enjoy it as much you can and don’t take it too seriously ❤️🫶🏼 and support each other 🙌🏼 #yougotthis #loverunning by @emilyproto
