HAMNET and this brilliant score by @maxrichtermusic - such a beautiful and interesting project to be Choir Master for; ensuring we created the best possible choral sound to bring the picture, and Director @chloezhao’s and Composer @maxrichtermusic’s vision to life, and watching wonderful colleagues shaping the score so skilfully with Conductor @hugh.tieppo.brunt.

We worked hard on this amazing expanding sequence you can hear - each melodic vocal line made up of a mix of voices to create an interesting and rich colour, and each part building in intensity as The Globe is revealed - magic!

So grateful to have been a part of it and to work with, and learn from, Max again.

@gracedavidsonsoprano’s solo singing is also gorgeous on many of the tracks and is a must-listen.

There is nothing better than transforming a room of hundreds of new people into a choir in the first minute!

It’s that time of year again and @londonsymphonyorchestra Symphonic Gospel is underway!

But if you haven’t been able to join this year and want to experience the JOY# of singing, do come and join one of the many workshops and rehearsals that me and @davidlawrence742 run all year round and get on next year’s Gospel list.

"The wall of sound that the massed choir produces, especially in the opening and closing choruses, is completely thrilling. Everyone sings with total commitment and joy and leaves nothing behind, knowing that this is the culmination of everything they have achieved on the course. Ranging in age from 11 to 19, each and every one them should feel a huge sense of pride to what they have achieved, not just in the final performance but over the course of the last incredible week. We respect their talents and honour them by being seriously demanding while they are with us. We are shamelessly ambitious about what young people can achieve, and yet again this week they have proved to us and, more importantly, to themselves, that the sky is the limit."

These are the words of our wonderful Alto Vocal Coach, David Clegg, from our final and much-loved newsletter series documenting Gabrieli Roar's 2026 Summer Residential!

Last week at Ely Cathedral young singers from across the country saw a sea of standing ovations for their performance of Handel's epic biblical oratorio, Saul. In just six days, they emerged from our Summer Residential course as musicians with an ability to sing alongside professionals. Young people are capable of incredible and inspiring things. 🧡

We are looking forward to working with these exceptional vocal leaders for our upcoming Christmas tour, working with children and young people in workshops across the UK.

We are so excited that the expansion of our Gabrieli Roar programme is reflected in the growth of our brilliant team - which remains uncompromising in its commitment to enriching young people’s lives through music. 🎶 by @emilyrdickens

It has been an enormous privilege filling the country’s most historic buildings with choral song this spring in our Baroque Masters tour!

Alongside our professional musicians, young singers performed great works of Vivaldi, Bach and Purcell, rising to the challenge of singing in Latin and German and embracing the art of the possible. We are so grateful to all the schools, partners and cathedrals that have made this wonderful project possible! ✨
