“Smile! My baby”

:))) I’ve just finished this painting it has been so lovely working on it, This is my first piece in my exploration of home and belonging a theme I will be focusing on in my practice going forward.

To begin addressing the topic of home and belonging I wanted to go back to my beginning and try to conceptualize the context of the world I was brought into as a baby.

This painting features a baby smiling for a portrait whilst in the back of a car going down an unsure path it’s been healing to work on this and start to think about how I am affected by the context of home

Lmk if you relate to feeling turbulence around home and belonging xxxx

It was such a joy working on my mural for Calgary queer arts society exhibition I wanted to make a post to keep all the exhibition information in one place.

This is a queer exibition curated by @wilmerphotography though CQAS in the +15 galleries at the @werklundcentre. I am one of 7 artists showing work. The exhibition is going to be from May 1st till October 4th.

Again I am so honoured to have my work be a part of a queer exhibition in Calgary. Let me know if you catch my mural in person xoxo
