Thanks so much for those who asked to buy, I’m making a few more of these handmade books which I hope to be ready by mid December. A few hard copies with swiss binding, as well as soft cover alternatives. Some bts of hand stitching, the book binding process as well as a sneak peak! Printed on Munken eco friendly paper. 📚 #bookbinding #photobook #swissbinding @book.arts.workshop @lcclondonphoto taken in Elephant and Castle by @emioconnell

Made a pinhole camera to try to get the eclipse, it came out blank because I was too busy to pick it up until two days later. Too much time, too much light but I still kind of like how it looks even though it flopped

Last night after work we got to watch the sun disappear through a handmade projector, watching the solar eclipse on our favourite SE skyline was pretty special. The moon covered about 90% of the sun, I kind of remember watching it in 1999

Now we wait for the next solar eclipse like this in the UK in September 2090, we will be 97 years old (fingers crossed)

In Conversation: New Irish Works 2026
On Institutional Power and Acts of Recovery

Artists Austin Hearne, Emily O’Connell, and Mandy O’Neill speak about their work and how, through personal narratives and social histories, previously silenced and forgotten experiences can be recovered.

6-7:30 pm Monday 13th July - Online via Zoom

This talk is part of a series of thematic conversations with artists featured in New Irish Works 2026, exhibited at the International Centre for the Image. The ten projects exhibited represent the growing diversity of contemporary photographic practices in Ireland, featuring work by Austin Hearne, Billy Kenrick, Ciara Richardson, Debbie Castro, Dorje De Burgh, Emily O’Connell, Garry Loughlin, Kate Nolan, Mandy O’Neill, and Miriam O’Connor.
