As 2025 comes to a close, so does my coaching chapter with @adidasrunners LDN (@runnersldn).

It’s difficult to put into words what being a part of this community has given me but let me have a go. I have lifelong friends all over the world, I met some of the most inspiring people doing the most worthwhile work and I’ve had many opportunities that I couldn’t believe a wee girl from Darvel who used to hate running got the chance to do.

From NYC, to Berlin, to Mexico City, to Paris, to Herzogenaurach, the desert and of course London this chapter has taken me all over the world through running.

Apart from seeing everyday people achieve things they never thought they were capable of, my personal highlights were leading on the With Women We Run project, which saw us highlight the issues women face whilst out running and being involved in our women’s only programming from the safe haven that was the adidas Studio on Brick Lane. These projects completely changed my perspective on women’s only spaces and I will forever be thankful for that.

Through sports we really do have the power to change lives. A massive thank you to anyone who has ever shared some miles and smiles with me. by @emmagpt

For 16 years I said I’d never do one. I just didn’t fancy the amount of time a marathon build takes and the marathon isn’t for everyone (regardless of what social media tells you - the marathon is not the new 5k!)

Spoiler - I loved the build. The consistency was everything my sad brain needed from December. Running with all the people brought me running joy again (@runnersldn, @runlimited.ldn @wearefriendsrunning @lizziemaccann, the Rx runners)

Race day was my favourite day in London EVER. I couldn’t stop smiling from start to finish. It was wildly warm for my 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 skin so goal A went swiftly out the window and goal B of sub 5 and having all the fun was go. I said hi to all my friends and family along the course and just had THE MOST FUN.

Forever grateful to @physio4meuk and @sw16rc for the place in one of the hardest races to get into.

Thanks to @alix_guthrie and Maz for doing an excellent job of chasing me around the course!

Will there be another one - maybe but I’m not sure anything can beat London 🇬🇧
