“The hardest goodbyes come from the most beautiful memories”

Thank you @virginiafccla for entrusting me to serve as your Vice President of Competitive Events. It’s crazy how 5 years can make a difference. Never would I have imagined that when I attended my first state conference is 2022 that I would be where I am today. I may be stepping down as a state officer but I’m not stepping away from FCCLA. Not even close. This organization has truly changed me for the better and given me a place to call home.

This year has helped me realize that it’s the little moments that matter the most. It’s the late night laughs, early mornings and so much more. This year has brought me some of my best friends and moments I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Thank you Virginia FCCLA for every moment, memory and lesson that I’ll carry with me forever. I’ll never forget this year and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!

Signing off,
Emma Light

Every great leader starts with one small step. Whether it’s introducing yourself to someone new, volunteering at your next chapter event, or simply saying “yes” to a new opportunity, every small action helps you grow as a leader. Challenge yourself to take one small step outside your comfort zone. You never know where it might lead. Which “One Small Step” will you take today? by @emmalight_fccla

I’m Kicking off a new monthly series called “Where Leaders are made”. Each month we will explore different ways FCCLA shapes leaders. Every leadership journey starts with a single step. Whether it’s attending your first chapter meeting, saying yes to a new opportunity, or stepping outside your comfort zone, every leader begins somewhere. This month, I’m highlighting a few incredible FCCLA members and learning about where their journey began. ❤️ Where did your FCCLA Journey start? by @emmalight_fccla

This NLC was such an amazing experience. I met so many amazing people. I had the great privilege of serving on the national nominating committee and as a voting delegate for Virginia FCCLA. So grateful for every single person I was able to connect with and I can’t wait for next year’s NLC. This organization truly holds a special place in my heart and I can’t wait to see where it’s takes me! #fccla by @emmalight_fccla
