When I went to Berklee College of Music there were times I was the only girl in the class andd the only black person. At a private music college there’s not many of us at allll, but we are a force. To be a part of an all-black women band years after, and to see us on the screen absolutely killing it, brought me to tears. Everyone up there is soooooo fire.

What a moment to remember. In our industry (and in life) we are often the minority, so to see us with a light being shined, all being professionals and masters at our craft, says that we exist and we are hereeee. I’m so happy that @doechii saw that vision and made it come to life.

I hope this performance inspires other black female musicians to keep going, and keep being their amazing selves. We are unique and bring something special to the table in all of our industries. When I see yall win we all win 👯‍♀️ taken in Washington D. C. by @emmani
