REVIEW TIME... The Ex Author: @fmcfaddenauthor Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.25 I loved the suspense, the mind games and the constant feeling that nobody was quite who they seemed. There were a few moments where I thought I'd worked it all out, only to be thrown off again. Anna was an absolutely fascinating character and the whole situation just got more and more twisted as the story went on. Definitely worth picking up!! #theex #freidamcfadden #thriller #bookstagram #bookreview by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... Winter Garden Author: @kristinhannahauthor Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.5 some books just break your heart in the most beautiful way, and this was one of them. ๐Ÿฅน the winter garden is so much more than a story about a mother and her daughters. itโ€™s about grief, family, the things we never say out loud, and how sometimes the people we love the most are the ones we understand the least. i went into this expecting an emotional read, but i wasnโ€™t prepared for how deeply this story would stay with me. kristin hannah has a way of making you feel everything her characters feel, even when you donโ€™t fully understand them at first. watching the relationship between anya, meredith and nina unfold was heartbreaking, especially as the layers of their motherโ€™s past slowly came to light. and the story within the story? absolutely devastating. it gave me a whole new perspective on the things people carry with them, the pain they hide, and the ways trauma can shape generations. what i loved most was how this book reminded me that sometimes there is so much more to a person than what they allow the world to see. sometimes the coldest people have the most heartbreaking stories, and sometimes understanding someone means learning about the pain theyโ€™ve spent their entire lives trying to survive. i did find some parts a little slow, which is the only reason this isnโ€™t a full five stars for me. but the emotional payoff made it so worth it. this book hurt, but in a way that felt necessary. it reminded me how complicated love can be, how much can go unsaid between family members, and how important it is to understand someone's story before judging who they are. definitely one of those books that makes you want to hug your loved ones a little tighter. ๐Ÿค kristin hannah, you really know how to ruin a person emotionally. 4.5 stars because I'm still recovering ๐Ÿฅน #TheWinterGarden #KristinHannah #HistoricalFiction #Bookstagram #BookReview by @emmy161092

REVIEW TIME... Releasing 10 ๐Ÿ’œ Author: @authorchloewalsh Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.5 I have finally finished The Boys of Tommen series! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ I have such mixed feelings about this one, especially the ending... What I will say, though, is that this is a devastating read and I would recommend anyone planning to read this series to check the trigger warnings for each book beforehand. โš ๏ธ On a positive note, Chloe Walsh handles mental health and SA incredibly well in this one. As a mental health nurse, I genuinely feel she deserves an award for the way she has written these sensitive topics. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’œ Hugh is my favourite character in this book because all he wants to do is support, protect and help Lizzie heal, even though he knows she has to navigate her own healing journey in her own way. ๐Ÿฅน๐Ÿ’œ This one didnโ€™t make me cry, but it still left me feeling emotional. Overall, this series is definitely worth reading! #TheBoysOfTommen #ChloeWalsh #Releasing10 #Bookstagram #MentalHealth by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... Truth Will Out Author: @nj_hatton Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.5 Wow! My first read by this author, and it definitely wonโ€™t be my last! ๐Ÿคฏ Packed with twists, turns and multiple heartbreaking POVs, this book had me hooked from start to finish! The pacing was fantastic, and it kept me on my toes the entire time. After rereading a few books, I desperately needed something to pull me out of my reading slump and this one did exactly that! ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ Just when I thought I had everything figured out, Hatton hit me with another twist and took the tension to a whole new level! ๐Ÿ˜ฎโ€๐Ÿ’จ This one is 100% worth picking up! Add it to your TBR! ๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ“š #NJHatton #TruthWillOut #Thriller #Bookstagram #BookReview by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... The Holiday Author: @tmloganauthor Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ I initially found this one a little slow to get into, but the short, snappy chapters kept me intrigued and wanting more. And let's not forget to the mention the tension and pace builds up!! Once I got into the plot, it was hard to put this book down! I honestly felt like I was constantly on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen next. And that ending? I did NOT see it coming! ๐Ÿคฏ Such a fab twist! #TheHoliday #TMLogan #Thriller #Bookstagram #BookReview by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... The Ballad Of Falling Dragons Author: @sarah.a.parker.author Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ It's been a while since I read the first book in this series, but I'm so glad I've finally picked up book two! I definitely preferred this one to the first. So much more happens, and despite there still being quite a bit of world-building, I felt like this was where things really started to get going! The chapters are shorter and snappier, which made me feel much more hooked and invested in the storyline. Even though there was a different POV for nearly every chapter, I actually enjoyed this because it gave me a deeper insight into each character's thoughts, feelings and emotions. But most importantly, Raeve and Kaan have that perfect connection you want (and NEED!) from a romantasy. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ I definitely didn't see half of the plot twists coming, and learning about "the Other"... IYKYK! ๐Ÿ‘€ I'm not going to lie, I'm not the biggest fan of being left on a cliffhanger, but I guess that's all part of the intrigue and magic of fantasy books! Now I just need to know what happens next... Thank you @lindamia760 for gifting me this for my birthday ๐Ÿค๐Ÿฉถ #TheBalladOfFallingDragons #SarahAParker #Romantasy #Bookstagram #BookReview by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... The Last Namsara ๐Ÿค Author: @kristenciccarelli Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ Dragons, forbidden stories, political intrigue and a slow-burn romance? This book had so many things I love in fantasy and overall, it was such an enjoyable read! I really enjoyed Ashaโ€™s character development and watching her slowly question everything sheโ€™d been taught to believe. Her journey of unlearning, finding her own strength and realising that she isnโ€™t defined by her past was probably my favourite part of the story. Yhe world-building was rich, the dragon mythology was fascinating (with the short stories throughout) and I loved the idea of stories having the power to summon dragons. ๐Ÿ‰ The romance was another highlight for me, although I would have loved a little more time to see the relationship develop. Some parts of the plot felt a bit predictable, and there were moments when the pacing was uneven, particularly towards the beginning. I also wanted a little more depth in certain relationships and emotional moments, because there was so much potential there. That said, the book more than made up for it with its atmosphere, themes of freedom and identity, and a protagonist learning to take control of her own story. Overall, a magical and engaging fantasy with dragons, a flawed but compelling heroine and a message about choosing who you want to be rather than accepting who the world tells you to be. Not quite a five-star read for me, but definitely one Iโ€™m glad I picked up! โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ #TheLastNamsara #KristenCiccarelli #Bookstagram #BookReview #Fantasy by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... I Bet You Look Good In A Coffin Author: @but_katy_did_it Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ.5 I had such a fun time reading this one! Katy Brent knows how to serve up the perfect mix of dark humour, murder and chaos. I loved the twisted atmosphere, the sharp humour, and the way the story kept me wanting to know what would happen next. Itโ€™s the kind of book that makes you question everyoneโ€™s motives while simultaneously making you laugh at things you probably shouldnโ€™t. ๐Ÿ™Š If you love your thrillers with a side of dark comedy, messy characters, and plenty of murderous mayhem, this one deserves a spot on your TBR! I feel Katy Brent is the female version of @lukechilts ๐Ÿ™Š๐Ÿ™Š or maybe Luke is the male version of her as I feel they are very similar in their writing styles... but that is just my opinion. #DarkComedy #Murder #IBetYouLookGoodInACoffin #KatyBrent #Bookstagram by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... Twins Of Fire - The World Below Author: @katiebutterworthbooks Book Tour: @ace.book.tours Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ This one is a fantasy adventure that combines mystery, danger and the importance of family bonds. The story creates an intriguing world filled with challenges, secrets and unexpected discoveries, drawing readers into the journey of the twins as they navigate the dangers and wonders around them. One of the bookโ€™s strengths is its sense of adventure and imagination. Butterworth creates a world that feels magical and full of possibilities, with moments of tension and excitement that keep the story moving. The relationship between the twins is at the heart of the novel and their courage, loyalty and determination make them characters readers can connect with. The book also gave me a little of the same feeling as The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, with its sense of stepping into another world, exploring the unknown and discovering that there is much more beyond ordinary life. However, some parts of the story may feel slower for readers who prefer a quicker pace, and some aspects of the world-building could have been developed further. With so many ideas and events happening, the plot can occasionally feel busy, although this also adds to the richness of the fantasy setting. Overall a very enjoyable read & and definitely for YAs who want to step into a new world ๐ŸŒŽ Thank you Katie for sending me a copy of your book for my honest review ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป Thank you Nic for Hosting ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป #AceBookTours #KatieButtersworth #Twinsoffire #Fantasy #Bookstagram by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... The Murder After The Night Before Author: @but_katy_did_it Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ A really enjoyable read! ๐Ÿ“š KB has a way of pulling readers in, and this one did not disappoint. Plenty of suspects, but only ever one killer! ๐Ÿ”ช There were lots of twists and turns along the way, and although some parts were predictable, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. KB also somehow manages to make me giggle throughout her books, whether intentionally or not! Another entertaining read that kept me turning the pages! #themurderafterthenightbefore #Katybrent #bookstagram #Bookreview #readingismytherapy by @emmy161092
REVIEW TIME... A Gala Ball at Tillingford Hall ๐Ÿฉท Author: @floradunnbooks Book Tour: @ace.book.tours Star Rating: ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŒŸ What a beautifully written book. I absolutely loved this story and the characters throughout. It pulled me in emotionally and I experienced all the feels while turning the pages. Tom and Saharaโ€™s connection was truly special... they had the perfect chemistry that made their story so enjoyable to read. While the ending was a little predictable, it didnโ€™t take away from the overall experience. This was a lovely, heartfelt book that I really enjoyed. This may be my first book by this author, but definitely not the last!! ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿป Thank you for having me on this tour @ace.book.tours And thank you Flora for gifting me your book for my honest review ๐Ÿฉท #BookTour #FloraDunn #AGalaBallAtTillingfordHall #Romance #BookReview by @emmy161092
