“ Sing it y’all… I’m out! “ -( Lighthouse @newdirectionchoir )

In honor of the @thestellars ‘ 40th anniversary, I wanted to share a moment that was sooo special to me. New Direction had the opportunity to open the awards & sang this very song.
I had no idea that youth choirs around the country sang this song. I still meet people that tell me, “ Girl, my cousin led this song” or “ That’s you?? OMG!” To know the impact we had makes my heart smile.
Y’all see my baby Afro? 😂😂
We rehearsed for weeks & took a bus to Nashville to perform. I remember doing press & meeting sooo many gospel legends. It will forever be one of my favorite moments. I’m thankful for the experience that kickstarted my career. Congratulations to all the winner’s & nominees this year. #stellarawards #gospel #music #fyp #chicago #newdirection #awards #memories by @emoniwilkins

MUSCLE SOULS !!! 🔗 IN BIO!
AVAILABLE ON ALL DIGITAL PLATFORMS!!!!

This EP is more than just music. It’s a reflection of my journey, my healing, and my prayers. The messages, the love, the anticipation over the past few months…y’all have no idea how much it’s meant to me.

To the team that made this possible… thank you for helping me bring the sound, the vision, the look, and the soul to life. This is just Volume One, and my heart is full.

@iamadamness & @rexhardyjr , thank you for pushing me, for seeing me, and for helping me bring these ideas to life. What a team! I love you both sooo much!

Every musician that played & thank you!

💇🏽‍♀️ @coco_elaine , you sewed 5 WIGS together on our ride to Atlanta for this look! Sis, ur heaven sent. I’m so grateful for your gifted hands. Love you!

@decanus, thank you for protecting me as an artist. You gave me wisdom, confidence, and peace of mind all while making sure I had all my ducks in a row, legally. I really love you & I’m thankful to have you in my life.

@justinfostered I told you the vision, and you brought it to LIFE. You’re a true visionary, and I’m extremely blessed to have had the opportunity to be your muse for the day. Thanks for sowing a seed into my life. I love you, my friend.

@melbelderjr , you don’t just take photos. You capture the feeling. That cover image is me giving God thanks for whatever comes next. You are literally one of the best in the biz & I’m truly blessed to know you. Love you!

And to my mommy… your voice, your presence, your spirit is all over this. I hope I made you proud. 💙

This took a village and my village showed up. I’m grateful for the isolation season, because it allowed me to hear God clearly. And this project… is the sound of that clarity.

Now y’all… stream it. Play it. Buy it. Share it.
Muscle Souls is an affirmation record. A soul record. A faith record.
It’s mine. And now it’s yours.

Love you all. 🖤

Vocal Coach Notes: Slow it down & count. 🫶🏽

I’m back in nashville with my client, breaking down a vocal embellishment from “Butter” by @bts.bighitofficial .
We’re using scale-degree numbers (the melodic application of the Nashville Number System) to map the notes, sharpen pitch accuracy, and hear exactly where the riff lands.

Slow it down. Find the notes. Repeat! 💁🏽‍♀️
We’re literally building coordination before adding speed.

Special thanks to my brother, @amosevansmusic for highlighting this incredible method during a vocal clinic we had last year. I’ve been using it bro & it’s all because of you!! Love you!!! IRON SHARPNESS IRON!!!!

Remember y’all… GIVE YOURSELF GRACE.
This application takes practice! 💙

What a blessing to sing for the Recording Academy’s Music Advocacy Day in Nashville today.
When @ssydiv & Alicia asked me, I kept thinking about how much we need each other right now. Love, friendship, and kindness are what conquer hate. So I sang “You’ve Got a Friend” by @jamestaylor_com .

To my friend @gtarphil … thank you. Ur one of the best to ever do it. Can’t believe I get to call you my friend. Love you bro! Thanks for playing for the kid today.

Music reminds us that we’re better together.
Use your voice too!
How?! Begin talk to your lawmakers, show up, and choose leaders who build a country that works for ALL of us, not just some of us.
Grateful to share my gift for something bigger than me.

VOCAL COACH NOTES: LIP TRILLS!!!! ( Vocal Vibrations)

Baby, the coach warms up too! 😂

Before I pour into my clients, I prepare my own instrument.

I’m connecting my breathing work with gentle lip trills: steady airflow, relaxed lips, and easy sound. These little vibrations help coordinate breath and voice without all that pushing—and gentle glides help me practice smoother transitions between registers.

Relax that jaw, take your time, and give your voice some grace. 💙
