Our summer of firsts continues: Enchanted Forest.

I grew up less than an hour away and went as a kid. My husband grew up in the same town and had never been. So while we were back in Portland for a family wedding this summer, we spent a few hours exploring with the girls.

Enchanted Forest is a family owned theme park tucked into the woods just south of Salem, Oregon, and it is every bit as whimsical and wonderfully strange as I remembered.

The Crooked House is still one of my favorite things there, but we also made our way through Tofteville Western Town, the Haunted House, Challenge of Mondor, Ice Mountain Bobsleds, the Big Timber Log Ride and the Fantasy Fountains water light show.

Tiny houses. Crooked roofs. Rides disappearing into the forest. A haunted house. A 40 foot log ride drop. Hundreds of dancing water jets.

And this weekend is your last chance to go in 2026. Enchanted Forest is open Saturday and Sunday, with Sunday, September 27 closing out the season.

Saturday 9/26: 10:30–5
Sunday 9/27: 10:30–5

You can save a little by buying admission online at least one day ahead, or buy regular admission at the gate.

Imagine opening up your favorite childhood storybook and actually getting to walk right through the pages. That is exactly what it feels like to step into the Enchanted Forest in Turner Oregon. For this Worth the Drive review we are leaving the everyday behind and entering the most magical fairy tale!

As you climb higher into the lush forest you discover more and more magic. Around every single corner there is another cave to explore a secret tunnel to crawl through or a wonderfully crooked house waiting to be discovered. Brightly colored scenes and charming animatronics help tell these classic stories along the way making it an absolute wonderland for our toddler son and baby daughter. The setting is completely immersive and there is truly nothing else like it.

General admission lets you wander through all the walk through areas from Storybook Lane to the western town and even zip down the giant slide. If your family is ready for some extra thrills you can purchase separate tickets for classic amusement rides nestled right into the trees.
Our final verdict is two enthusiastic thumbs up!

ACE Preservation Conference has kicked off in Oregon with a magical visit to Enchanted Forest. 🌲✨️

The morning featured ERT on Ice Mountain Bobsled Roller Coaster, Big Timber Log Ride and the park's interactive dark ride, Challenge of Mondor. Another highlight of the day was when the ACE Northwest Team presented a plaque honoring the late Roger Tofte and shared a brief history of this remarkable man who created Enchanted Forest.

ACEers then enjoyed a hilarious original production of Pinocchio before spending the afternoon exploring the rest of this charming park.

Learn more about Roger Tofte’s life and legacy in an upcoming issue of RollerCoaster! Magazine, featuring extensive research and interviews with his daughters and extended family by Sean Randall.

This Friday, August 21st, our house band, Possibly Irish, will be playing a FREE concert at the Dallas Rotary Amphitheatre from 6–8 PM! ☘️🎻

But don’t worry, Tuesday String Band will be performing in the park on Friday. 🎶

So you have two great options for your Friday:

☘️ Head to downtown Dallas for a FREE evening concert with Possibly Irish 6-9 PM
