Tofte Family owned and operated theme park in Oregon since 1971 🌲Come be Enchanted #EFLife

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Inspired by beloved roadside attractions he saw on road trips with his family, Roger Tofte spent seven years building Enchanted Forest by hand, one bag of concrete at a time. He was made fun of, but today, 55 years later, it still stands. While Tofte passed away earlier this year, it is still owned and operated by Tofte’s children and grandchildren. While @enchantdforst has closed for the season, you can see more from our August visit on the bl0g, and begin planning your visit next spring! ⛓️‍💥 in stories and b!0 🏰

✨BEHOLD, FOGLORD! ✨Another favorite from Peter Beste’s new Dungeon Synth book is this moment at Enchanted Forest in Turner, Oregon during our 2024 festival CRASH COURSE IN SPACE SORCERY. We convinced @d.drolgof to board a plane for the first time to perform inside the chamber of the OMSI planetarium for his debut West Coast appearance, and together with the hordes of Wyrd War we brought magic to “ye old dungeon” at @enchantdforst! Do yourself a favor and visit FOGLORD’s Bandcamp and order his latest cassette Lore of the Blue Mist. This is blue grass mysticism from the hollers of Appalachia that reconciles the radiant drive of traditional clawhammer banjo with the cosmic tonality of ethereal synths for a spell that swirls and drifts somewhere between the constellations of Jim Kirkwood and Manly Wade Wellman. Which is to say, it lowers our blood pressure. Essential. 🍂

Exactly seven years ago TODAY, on October 12, 2019, we helped Peter Beste launch his visual exploration of heavy metal fandom and the so-called “battle jacket” phenomenon with a wildly popular Defenders of the Faith book signing at our former brick and mortar Wyrd War Gallery. It was a fantastic day for the arts, and a joyful way to introduce his latest body of work to the Portland metal hordes. This weekend, we launched Peter Beste’s new book Dungeon Synth, available now through Peter’s website and through publisher @hatandbeardpress. We highly recommend this book to anyone interested in fantasy music of all varieties, underground art communities and radical subcultures more broadly. His latest opus includes several photos from past Wyrd War festivals THE DUNGEON IS ALIVE!, MARCH INTO FANTASY and CRASH COURSE IN SPACE SORCERY, a few of which can be glimpsed here. Total Support! ⚔️📸⚔️

NEW EPISODE of “Ride With Us,” the official podcast of @ridewithace 🎙️

At the 2026 ACE Preservation Conference, we visited Enchanted Forest, Oaks Park, and Wild Waves Theme & Water Park in the Pacific Northwest (with some other stops along the way.) In this episode, we talk about what makes these parks worth preserving, the people and stories behind them, and why experiencing smaller and historic parks in person can give preservation a whole new meaning. 🎠🎢

Thanks to @gerikgooch and @musingsweb for joining!
Listen to Ride With Us wherever you get your podcasts. 🎧

Thank you all so much for your patience while waiting for these! And a HUGE thank you to @niko_nocturnal for capturing the photographs for this year’s event!

The hosts of Goths in the Forest want to offer a sincere thank you to everyone who came together once again, showed your love for the Enchanted Forest, and helped make this such a wonderful community gathering. Seeing everyone come together year after year truly means so much to us.

And did you know there were not just one, but TWO proposals during the group photo?! 💍🖤

And they both gladly said YES!!

Congratulations to both of these happy couples! We are so honored that such a special moment happened during Goths in the Forest!!

We’ll be posting the rest of the photos by next week, so please keep an eye out for more photo updates! 📸🖤 please feel free to tag yourselves, and share the photos!!
