Could not be more ready for the summer heat to end. Bring on the cool weather 🍂

Went thrifting a couple of weekends ago and scored this sick cashmere short-sleeved sweater. Fingers crossed I don’t accidentally ruin it in the wash!

Paired with my wool @makebytfs Cass Pants (sized down 2 to a Sz. 4 based on finished garment measurements) and @timberland platform loafers.

I made this @anna.zoe.sewing Elsie Skirt wayyyy back in January, never wore it, then pulled it back out about a month ago and it’s been in the weekly rotation ever since.

When I first tried it on after finishing it, I was convinced it was too sheer and got weirdly defeated by it? While you can faintly see my black bike shorts underneath if you’re really looking for them, it’s honestly not enough for me to care. Paired it last week with a thrifted rtw cardigan and it felt super cute and put together for the office.

It’s been a whirlwind being back in public education with the start of the school year, especially in such a different role. I’m curious if any of you have made the jump from classroom teacher to administration/district operations, what that transition was like, and if you have any advice or perspective to share. Feel free to start a convo here or message me! by @enderallsews

Had the absolute pleasure of surprising my homegirl with some pants in her favorite color featuring her favorite animal when I took a quick trip back to Arkansas last week!

I made the @spaghetti_western_sewing Enzo Pant in Sz. 8, using the finished garment measurements as my guide. Fabric is the 9.5 oz. bull denim in pale lavender from @blackbirdfabrics and is so soft and lovely (color is truest in the first two pics!). The fox quilt block is an @elizabethagh cutie creation and was serendipitously the exact height of the Sz. 8 knee patch. I did my own thing with the waistband construction based on my preferred method.

This was honestly such a fun project, and I can’t get over how cute the knee patches turned out! by @enderallsews

Nothing like an impending move to suddenly make you wanna sew.

Took the @moodfabrics Drift Shirt Dress for a spin with some @wearethefabricstore striped cotton/triacetate I had sitting in my stash. I made a Sz. M based on the body measurements sizing chart and it feels spot on, but I did end up shortening the length by 2.5” after initial try on. Sizing goes up to a 63” hip and the construction is pretty straightforward with a blog post in lieu of an instructional booklet. My biggest critique is there aren’t any dang notches, but it’s a free pattern so I made do. Finished it off with some pearl snaps.

Anyone else try this pattern yet? I’m new to the world of free Mood patterns, let me know if there’s another one I should try! by @enderallsews

My sweet sweet Dorothy. I took a community college quilting class with a bud back in February and made the @penelopehandmade Dorothy Quilt. I’ve been in love with this pattern since it was released but I’m not much of a quilter. The class gave me the motivation to realize my dream, and the scheduled block of time really worked for my brain!

I made the Throw size and followed the directions to a tee. Both the checkers and backing fabric is @fableism. The loose weave made it a bit fussy to work with, but it was absolutely worth it. It already has the handfeel of a worn in treasure.

The class instructor quilted it for me on her manual longarm, and I finished with a machine stitched binding. She’s been keeping me warm ever since! by @enderallsews

I started these @bfpatterns Parker Pants on a lovely little sewing retreat a while back, took a bit to finish them, and have been wearing them like crazy ever since.

I made Sz. B* and swapped the front and back pockets out with some self-drafted ones to change the vibe. At the last minute I decided to use French and flat-felled seams so I didn’t have to lug my serger to the cabin and it made for the absolute cleanest finish, but dang I gotta wiggle these on. Didn’t quite think through that one 😅 thankfully it worked out but what a gamble!

Fabric is striped denim from @califabrics. It’s a nice weight for summer and has a smooth hand-feel.

Paired with a DJ Genra Shirt made in my most favorite @brightsidefabricco sandwashed cotton. This piece is getting so much wear now that the weather is warm!

*A note that I’m still using the preview pattern, which is a bit different than the finished version. The inseam was shortened, the rise lowered, and ease removed for the release. by @enderallsews

Rounded out last work week with some of my favorite dresses! Me Made May is almost over but it’s been fun dressing with a bit more intention. The warmer weather certainly helps buoy my spirits. Nice letting the legs out ✨

Me Made May Days 3 & 4. That transition into Monday was a rough one, I needed the warm sunny weekend to last!

Sunday was spent in my cropped @paradisepatterns #BlommaTank, Wiksten Unfolding Jacket, and heavily modifed @peppermintmagazine Spring Shorts. Threw on my @annaallenclothing #HeleneJeans and @alamain_studio #PleatTop for an easy but put-together look to start the workweek. by @enderallsews

Me Made May Day 2 because hell, why not.

Started the morning with a quilting class and then bopped around the house doing chores. Soaked up some sun in the backyard and soon I’ll be starting dinner. Nice little Saturday.

First day of Me Made May and I’m still trying to decide how I feel about it 😆 this space has changed a *lot* since I started this account 6 years ago, but it was actually this yearly challenge that finally inspired me to start sewing again. I’ve been at it ever since!

I’m making no promises, we’ll see how it goes. Curious how ya’ll are feeling about the holiday this year.

In honor of the days of old, wearing some og makes. Hacked ES Georgia dress and linen Wiksten Unfolding Jacket.

Swipe for the goodest boy. by @enderallsews
