Some of my favorite workouts are with @ajyc_us and it’s been a minute since our schedules lined up. It feels like every day this week was a leg day but when the workout is literally just cleans and box jumps, it’s hard to say no🏋️‍♀️

Staying light today with 125 to work out some kinks in the form but seated box jumps was fun to play around with

Thankful for the squad @symmetry_fitness that takes training seriously and for always stopping their workouts to watch a new PR happen 😂

One of my most committed, dedicated, driven, & disciplined clients.
@hybriddad1 was referred to me by @endrangeperformance after he had been in physical therapy for a past injury that occurred while running the NYC Marathon.
Jason knew he needed to make a change in his training & preparation after his injury, & after competing in his 1st @hyroxusa competition. He is currently in training to compete in another HYROX event in the fall, as well as the NYC Marathon.
After an initial consultation & baseline assessment I put Jason through a phase focusing on developing body awareness, proper movement patterning, mobility, core integration, & understanding of force absorption & generation.
Jason has great cardiovascular endurance, but the demands of HYROX will push him to elevate his alactic power & alactic capacity due to repeated high intensity output. So I expressed to him about varying energy system demand (ESD), & how that will be integrated into his training, as we started to build a base.
This current phase we are continuing to work on improving more efficient patterning for force development, working on building strength & muscular endurance development.
He has already seen great improvement in his runs, & body awareness in just 4 weeks time.
This is going to be an incredible journey, & I am grateful to be a part of it.

📲DM me directly to set up an initial consultation.

Can you tell which leg had ACL surgery? 👀

One of the most important parts of ACL rehab isn’t the exercises.

It’s the testing.

If you don’t test, you’re guessing.

Recent testing showed that force absorption had improved significantly, but force production was still lagging behind. In other words, he could accept force well, but he wasn’t creating it as effectively as the uninvolved side.

So we’ve shifted gears.

Early rehab focused on strength, movement quality, and force absorption.

Now the priority is force production.

Two of my favorite tools for this phase are:

• Poliquin step-ups
• Barbell-loaded box step-ups

Both challenge single-leg force production, improve lower extremity power, and help bridge the gap between strength training and athletic performance. Both are simple enough to build athlete confidence around the surgical leg (the mental component is HUGE)

Good rehab isn’t about doing more exercises.

It’s about identifying the next limiting factor and choosing the right tools to address it.

Which side do you think had surgery? 👇

Knee pain isn’t always a knee problem🤷🏼‍♀️

The knee sits between the foot and the hip, so if either of those joints isn’t doing its job, the knee is often the one that pays the price.

In this drill we’re working on foot engagement, femoral rotation control, and lower extremity positioning to improve how force is transferred through the leg during movement.

Sometimes reducing symptoms isn’t about strengthening the painful area rather, improving the quality of movement around it.

For the trainers, coaches, and rehab professionals watching:

What’s the next movement fault you would address here? 👇

Even PTs have flare-ups too 🤦🏼‍♀️

Woke up with my back angry this morning and a lacrosse ball to the glutes was the only thing giving me any relief.

Unfortunately, I have a full day of patients ahead and @dr.colechandler wasn’t free until the end of the day.

So sometimes you do what you have to do.

A little self-administered dry needling, some movement, and enough relief to get through the day.

No one is immune to aches and pains. It’s unrealistic that you’ll avoid them forever, it’s having the tools to manage them when they show up.

Lucky for me I like the needles 😈

Most people train shoulder strength by moving weight. Sometimes the best way to build strength is by not moving at all.

In this example, we’re using both yielding and overcoming isometrics.

A yielding isometric requires the muscles to resist an external force and maintain position without giving in. Think of it as “holding your ground.”

An overcoming isometric requires you to push or pull as hard as possible against an immovable resistance. Think of it as “creating force without movement.”

Combining the two challenges the rotator cuff and shoulder stabilizers to both absorb force and produce force while keeping the shoulder centered and controlled.

Strong shoulders aren’t just about pressing more weight overhead. They’re about creating stability, maintaining position, and producing force when it matters.

That’s the difference between training muscles and training the shoulder as a system.

Send this to someone who’s been struggling with nagging shoulder pain!

If it doesn’t suck, you’re probably not doing it right.

Most people think “core training” is just abs.

But real core work involves the deeper stabilizers working together with the hips, shoulders, and trunk to create stability and control through movement.

Positions like this challenge:
• deep core stabilization
• hip flexor strength/endurance
• anti-rotation control
• cross-body coordination

…while reducing stability and forcing the body to produce tension dynamically.

This is the kind of core training that actually transfers to lifting and athletics.. and yes, it burns😈

“Deadlifts are bad for your back” 🤝 people with weak backs

Your spine is designed to move, adapt, and get stronger under load.

Progressive loading, good mechanics, and consistency > avoiding movement out of fear.

Strong backs are resilient backs.

305 moved pretty well too 😏

Real life moment — not every fix happens in the clinic.

Dealing with some knee irritation tonight, so going back to the basics that I use all the time with patients.

Sometimes it’s not about doing more… it’s about doing the right thing at the right time.

Simple, low effort, effective.

Day in the life of a sports PT running my own practice 💉

One of my favorite parts of what I do is collaborating with other practitioners, especially when they’re also athletes who truly understand performance and recovery 💪🏼

We talk shop, share techniques, and yes… sometimes giggle through the painful moments 😅

Behind the scenes it’s equal parts:
• education
• recovery work
• problem solving
• and good conversation

Grateful to work with people who value taking care of their bodies as much as they push them.

Performance + recovery go hand in hand.

Starting off this holiday week strong! 💪🏼 🍗
This time of year can get hectic and it’s easy to get thrown off routine. With long days at work to see all my clients and long road trips to visit family this week, I want to make sure I’m able to still have a well rounded workout.

I actually LOVED how I felt during this. Front squats have always been a favorite of mine and with adding cleans back into my programming, those movements pair well together🏋️‍♀️

If you know me, you know I hate cardio 🤢 The conditioning piece of this workout actually flew by and the exercises involved helped get into that “athlete mindset” as opposed to just training cardiovascular systems.

And of course, it always helps to have some accountability, thanks @ajyc_us for running through this with me today.

Before you get fork deep into turkey and stuffing this week, make sure you sneak in those reps!
