The @farmbudsmn Harvest Party was so lovely! It was so great to see my favorite organic farmers across the state of Minnesota, eat incredible food, & celebrate the winding down of the harvest season. I am really thankful to be a part of this community that has expanded my horizons beyond the cities.
Before this summer, there were many parts of Minnesota I had not yet experienced. People have so many misconceptions about rural America: the people who live there, the landscape/farms, and the struggles they face. I think if we connect with each other beyond race, class, culture, creed, religion, and zip code— the more we realize we are so much more alike than we know! The most beautiful thing about Farm Buds is the connection we are making between urban & rural peoples; creating sustainable & healthy food systems during a tumultuous time where we know the future will cause more chaos & unpredictability. The ruling class doesn’t want us to eat healthy, safe, & nutritious foods.
At the party, I met someone who told me they did a Watson Fellowship about climate grief. Much of the feeling I experience about climate catastrophe is grief… this weekend was in the 80s in autumn in Minnesota… Will we ever go back to “normal”? Sometimes I cry about the future because I don’t know what this world will be like. That is why I am so invested in seeing socialism in my lifetime and why I am a degrowth communist.
Another person from the party who is a leader in the Rondo neighborhood in Saint Paul said we should stop using the term food desert because deserts are naturally occurring, so instead start calling it food apartheid because it’s intentionally set up by the system. That really stuck with me and I hope we can think about the language we use and be more intentional about what we want to communicate. If you want to get involved and build relationships with farmers, hit me up~ taken in Saint Paul, Minnesota by @engoogy

Spent a week on the farm of @meira_meira_on_the_wall in Wisconsin! Check out this new book that was just released that she contributed a chapter to. @dioishh is also in the book! We met back in late May/early June in France at an anti-imperialist & anti-fascist festival called @organize_fight_win that I spoke at, but this was during a session I was in the audience for regarding the crises that farmers are facing internationally. A French comrade was like “Hey, you need to meet this other American who is here!” Fast forward to August, I go on my second @farmbudsmn trip where a bunch of us were carpooling from the Twin Cities to Aitkin County. I show up at the carpooling location and we bump into each other and I say, “Hey, I know you?!” Then I realized we met in Europe. Happy autumnal equinox! Happy harvest season!

I’ve been somewhat off-the-grid helping out at different farms across the state of Minnesota during the summer season. Farmers are really struggling this year with the draught. Spent Labor Day week in Chicago. Being with comrades was necessary and seeing the graves of our revolutionary ancestors was a reminder of how much we have to do and accomplish.

Because I’m still unemployed, it’s been really hard for me to show up for our movements in the ways I want to. It’s a competitive job market. Still reeling from the impacts of state repression, too.

The best part about your life falling apart?
(losing your job, your housing, getting into a wreck, being broken up with, & then some)
It is that you have no choice but to focus solely on your health because that’s all you’ve got at the end of the day! taken in 𝓣𝓱𝒆 𝓤𝒏𝒊𝓿𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒆 by @engoogy

@labornotes 2026 Conference! The Twin Cities was recognized throughout the conference for our resistance against ICE and the federal occupation. It was so amazing to see my comrades around the world who are dedicated to class struggle unionism. Let’s keep up the momentum and the energy— we have a world to win. taken in Chicago, Illinois by @engoogy

Back from Paris! I was invited back for the @organize_fight_win summit! It was so incredible to meet comrades from around the world and to learn from them.

I spoke on a panel Saturday night about how to resist fascism and imperialism from the belly of the beast— As well as two panels on resistance against ICE for two other organizations on Saturday morning.

On Saturday afternoon we had a manifestation for the militant trade unionist and antifascist Clement Meric who was murdered by a fascist. They had a drum line from Ireland participate in the march. It added reverence and pride. During the march, someone held about a sign remembering Heather Heyer. That meant a lot to me.

Additional highlights of the trip include: participating in The Paris Commune remembrance event, going to amazing bookstores, eating the best food, watch the Paris soccer game with new comrades, and visiting the catacombs~ taken in Paris, France by @engoogy
