For a week now I’ve been battling about posting … Recently I went on a trip to the Dominican Republican with a wonderful group of men all with one mission and a heavy heart for a community living deeply in oppression . I had my own expectations of what things would be like and I don’t think there was anything that could have prepared me for what it really was like until I was physically there . The first 10 photos look like a good time… almost the illusion of a vacation if you will. I tell you it was far from that . The last 6 photos are more of a reality of the mission trip . Still there are photos I could just not find myself to actually take with my phone . Instead there’s photos I took with only my eyes and heart that will never leave or be forgotten … The most important part of this trip was not only the physical labor we had the privilege and the honor to do for the benefit of the community , but also the spiritual work for the kingdom of God . Pointing a community living in oppression to a hope and faith far greater than their unfortunate circumstance, and suffering . A hope and a faith that is beyond this life , one that is not based on the physical surrounding and experiences of this world . Instead a glorious life after this one with our Heavenly Father . Revelation 21:4 - He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” This is the hope that transcends this physical life . My heart is still heavy for the family I was able to behold over a thousand miles away . I went to the D.R as a stranger and left as a brother and member of a family I didn’t know I was a part of . I look forward to seeing my family again next year . A piece of my heart will forever live right there in the Haitian community in Munoz . Thank you Jesus for all you are doing. We will leave everything we are incapable of doing in Your hands , as we do whatever we can physically with our own hands . by @enilsk8
