WOW hello 👋

A DEEP DEEPLY privilege to be playing the dulcimer and conducting the Poor Farm’s installation/performance/sitting/benching/brooming this weekend at the @mcachicago CHICAGO PERFORMS series.

I transcribed 12 different bits of birdsong for the hammered dulcimer & then threw some dice to tell me when to play them during our 2 hour shows. It’s gonna be: cool, funny, strange, still, moving, confusing and also there is an Electric Light Orchestra song(!)

Alongside assorted geniuses: @markjosephjeffery @porousjudd @living_within_the_play @kelciafk @michelleagrabner @kristinmariani @chris_crystall & deeply choir :) taken in MCA Chicago by @ennui2

THURS 25 FRI 26 SAT 27
Mocrep presents I Live Every Day
at Steppenwolf 1700 as part of the LookOut Series

Look (at me forever), it is rare to know and work with the same collaborators for a long time. Me and @jennamarielyle and @chris_crystall and @zach____moore and Andrew have known each other for like 10 or more years. We have made many things together, most of them when we were in our 20s and we weirdly had tons more time and energy and also a magical degree of collective bravado and pride born of youthful ignorance. (Narcissus.)

We are older and wiser now, but not perfect. We made this thing that I am too tired to describe. Mostly we worked really hard together and my friends are so talented and smart and generous and I have loved the privilege of spending this time with them.

It is almost impossible to make anything, together or alone. Hope we can share it with you! Come out and say hi! I love you.

Also joining us in the booth and outside eyeing is extraordinary friend @ennui2 pinch me!

‘Knockout’ premieres in Minneapolis THIS July 2026 🥊

“Brody and Kilmurray take a raucous approach to form” (@dancenthusiast), creating an atmosphere akin to experiencing a summer blockbuster, leaving you on the edge of your seat. “It’s nothing short of an adrenaline rush” (@seechicagodance).

What 💌
‘Knockout’ is a fierce contemporary dance duet that explores queer possibilities through a dynamic choreographic collage of intimacy, attraction, strength and survival.

Hailed by the @chicagotribune as “two of Chicago’s most captivating performers,” Kilmurray + Brody propel audiences through a cinematic thrill ride of femme fight sequences, lush sonic landscapes, toothy camp, and partnerships that sidestep tidy categorization.

Intoxicating, heart-stopping, and surreal, Knockout exists inside of the disorienting moment after the point of contact but just before hitting the floor. TKO, baby.

When 🪢
Saturday July 11 @ 7:30p
Sunday July 12 @ 3:00p
