Hi, I’m Enjely (Enjie)— and this is the heart behind Enriched Mind & Body.

I’m a Registered Dietitian, Certified Personal Trainer, Marine Corps veteran, aerial dancer, and first-generation Dominican-American. My roots run deep in both discipline and culture — and everything I do is guided by purpose, compassion, and movement.

I started Enriched Mind & Body as a love letter to healing — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too. After years of helping athletes, performers, and active individuals navigate nutrition, fitness, and their relationship with both, I saw how powerful it is when we stop chasing extremes and start fueling and moving with intention.

My own relationship with food and movement wasn’t always kind. Like many of us, I had to unlearn and relearn what it means to nourish, rest, strengthen, and trust my body again. Through aerial dance, strength training, and my own performance journey, I discovered how much freedom comes from building a strong, sustainable relationship with food, fitness, and self.

This space is for active souls — from athletes refining their edge, to individuals who are stepping into movement for the first time, to those who want to repair a complicated relationship with fueling their bodies.

It’s for anyone ready to move with joy, fuel with purpose, and perform without compromising their well-being.

Fitness should challenge you, not intimidate you!

Not everyone steps into the gym with the goal of becoming an athlete, lifting the heaviest weights, or training for a competition.

For some, it’s about improving their health, building strength, maintaining muscle, managing their weight, improving mobility, or simply feeling better in their bodies.

And sometimes, the hardest part is just getting started.

I still remember one of my very first personal training clients who was terrified of going to the gym. During our first few weeks together, we made things a little more fun by incorporating themes into our sessions, whether that meant wearing certain colors or showing up in funny socks.

It might sound silly, but those little things helped make the gym feel less intimidating and created a more positive experience.

As a trainer, I want my clients to feel challenged, but I also want them to feel comfortable, supported, and excited to come back.

Fitness doesn’t always have to be so serious. You can work hard, laugh, have fun, and still make progress!

And sometimes, having a friend, workout partner, or supportive trainer by your side makes all the difference.

Special thank you to my dietetic intern for joining me for this workout and making it a fun one!

Whatever your reason for moving, remember that your fitness journey is YOURS. Find what works for you and enjoy the process.

Gentle Reminder: You don’t have to be “in shape” to start. 🤍

I know because I used to think the exact same way.

Before I became a trainer, before I became active in the aerial community, and even before I tried aerial for the first time, I had this idea in my head that I needed to get “in shape” first.

Then one day I decided to just go. Because really, you have to start somewhere.

I didn’t need to be the strongest, the most flexible, or know exactly what I was doing. I just needed to start. And that decision eventually led me to a completely different relationship with movement and fitness.

So if you’ve been telling yourself, “I’ll start when I lose some weight,” “I’ll go when I’m stronger,” or “I need to get in shape first”… this is your reminder that you don’t have to wait until you feel ready.

And if the gym feels intimidating, I’m here to help. One of my specialties as a trainer is working with beginners, from learning how to use gym equipment safely and properly to building strength, confidence, and a routine that actually feels doable.

You don’t have to figure it all out by yourself. 🤍

College students, this one’s for you 👀🛒

I sent my intern Anna to the grocery store to show what grocery shopping, budgeting, and meal prep can realistically look like as a college student.

And who better to share it than an actual college student?

A few tips from Anna’s grocery run:

💰 Choose store brands when it makes sense. Store-brand foods are often cheaper than name brands and can be nutritionally very similar. Compare the nutrition label, ingredients, and price instead of assuming the more expensive option is better.

📝 Shop with a plan. Think about what meals and snacks you’ll actually eat that week before filling your cart.

🍗 Start with the basics. Pick a few proteins, carbs, fruits, veggies, and snacks that you can mix and match throughout the week.

🧊 Frozen and canned foods count. They’re convenient, can last longer, and can be great options when you’re shopping on a budget.

🍝 Keep easy backup meals around. Between classes, studying, work, and everything else, you probably won’t want to cook every night.

♻️ Use what you already have. Check your fridge, freezer, and pantry before shopping. Less food waste also means less money wasted.

And remember, meal prep doesn’t have to mean eating the exact same meal every day.

Sometimes meal prep is simply making sure you have enough food and a few easy options ready for a busy week.

Eating well in college doesn’t have to be expensive, complicated, or perfect. It just needs to work for your schedule, your budget, and YOU.

College student to college student, Anna’s showing you how she makes it work. 🤍

Save this for your next grocery trip! 🛒

Do you need to keep lifting heavier to build muscle? 🏋🏽‍♀️

Not necessarily.

When we talk about building muscle, you’ll often hear the term progressive overload. Simply put, it means gradually challenging your muscles more over time.

Adding more weight is one way to do that, but it’s not the only way.

Progress can also look like:

* Doing more reps with the same weight
* Improving your range of motion
* Performing an exercise with better technique and control
* Adding a set when appropriate
* Progressing to a more challenging variation
* Increasing the weight when your current weight becomes easier

And you do not need to max out or lift as heavy as possible every workout to build muscle. Research supports muscle growth across a range of loads when your sets provide enough effort and challenge.

Now, putting on my dietitian hat for a second: your workouts aren’t working alone.

Building muscle also requires enough overall nutrition, protein, carbohydrates, sleep, and recovery to support the work you’re doing in the gym.

So if you’re new to lifting, don’t worry about matching the weights of the person next to you.

Start with a weight you can control. Learn the movement. Challenge yourself. Track your progress. Give your body time to recover. Then build from there.

Getting stronger isn’t just about putting more plates on the bar 💪🏾

Save this for your next workout or send it to someone who’s just getting started with lifting :) #fitnessmotivation #fitnessforbeginners #enrichedbyenjie #nutritiontips #lifting by @enrichedbyenjie

Aerialists are athletes — and athletes need fuel. 🖤

Pole, lyra, silks, and strength-based movement ask a lot from your body. But in fitness spaces, the message is often to eat less, shrink more, and push harder.

For aerialists, under-fueling can make training harder — affecting energy, strength, recovery, focus, grip, and performance.

We spoke with Enjely Mora, MS, RD, LDN, CPT — registered dietitian, personal trainer, aerial coach, and Lyra instructor — about how aerialists can better support their bodies through nutrition.

Her reminder: sometimes getting stronger starts with eating enough.

Post-workout nutrition doesn’t have to be complicated.

After training, your body is working to:

✔️ Repair muscle tissue
✔️ Replenish energy stores
✔️ Rehydrate and replace electrolytes
✔️ Recover so you’re ready for your next workout

A simple recovery meal can include:

🥤 Protein shake + banana
🍗 Chicken, rice, and vegetables
🥚 Eggs + toast + fruit
🥣 Greek yogurt + berries + granola

Current sports/fitness nutrition recommendations:

🔹 Aim for 20-40g of protein after training
🔹 Include carbohydrates, especially after longer or more intense workouts
🔹 Rehydrate with fluids throughout the day
🔹 Replace sodium if you’re a heavy sweater or training in the heat

The biggest mistake I see? Focusing only on protein and forgetting carbs, hydration, and overall nutrition throughout the day.

Recovery starts with your next meal, not your next workout. 💪

What’s one thing you’re working on improving after your workouts?

Nothing replaces the work you put into yourself.

Not the shortcuts, not the trends, not the “quick fixes.”

As a trainer and dietitian, I’ll always remind you real change comes from consistency, not perfection. #Enriched #enrichedbyenjie #habits by @enrichedbyenjie

Thank you to Flying Squirrel Studio for welcoming me into your space and giving me the opportunity to connect with the aerial community. I’m so grateful to be part of a sport that values strength, creativity, and community.

As a registered dietitian and fitness trainer, I love supporting aerialists and pole athletes with nutrition, strength training, mobility, and recovery. This community often navigates things like fueling for long training sessions, injury prevention, building strength while maintaining flexibility, and learning how to properly recover between classes.

I’m excited to continue supporting this amazing community through Enriched Mind & Body.
