Our YARA Community Rides will be pausing service at the end of this week.

‼️New Workshop — AI Safety, Explained for Everyone

🤖 AI Safety Workshop: Where Is AI Headed, and What Does It Mean for You?

Ensemble Washington is partnering with LaJay Norvell of AI Safety Awareness Project to bring you a free, beginner-friendly workshop on one of the biggest conversations of our time: artificial intelligence.

📅 Saturday, October 24, 2026 🕐 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM 📍 Capital One Café

No technical background needed — just curiosity.

AI systems have advanced faster than almost anyone predicted, reshaping work, relationships, and even crime in the process. This session will dig into where AI is likely headed over the next 1–5 years and what that could mean for everyday life, covering questions like:
• Jobs — Will AI create new kinds of work, or put people out of work?
• Crime — How could AI be used to supercharge scams and hacking?
• Companionship — Are people forming real emotional bonds with AI companions?
• Society — What do leading researchers expect these shifts to look like?
What to expect:
• A fast-paced overview of today’s most powerful AI tools, built for beginners
• Live demos showing both the breakthroughs and the risks
• Interactive forecasting exercises where you’ll test your own predictions against the group

We’re excited to share that Ensemble Washington and the University of Washington School of Public Health (@uwsph )are joining forces to bring public health education beyond the classroom and into the community.

And just as importantly, we’re helping nurture the next generation of public health leaders who recognize that healthier communities are built on more than knowledge. They’re built by ensuring people have the resources, support, and opportunities to make healthier choices where they live, work, and grow.

This partnership marks a major milestone in our Student Life Engagement Program, reflecting our commitment to actively supporting and empowering students who are not simply the leaders of tomorrow, but dynamic change agents, bringing their knowledge, skills, creativity, and fresh perspectives to address challenges and create meaningful impact in their communities.

Strength & Rhythm: A Community Wellness Event 💜

Swipe through for a glimpse of the joy, movement, and sunshine from our Strength & Rhythm community wellness event on July 24th! Thank you to everyone who came out and showed up for yourselves and for each other. The energy in that room was unmatched.

This event was truly a collective effort, and it would not have been possible without:

🌍 House of Afro — for bringing the high-energy Naija-featured Afro dance workout that had the whole room moving as one
 🏋🏾 Tone with Tifa — for the strength training that pushed us and reminded us what our bodies can do
 🍲 RS Cater — for feeding us delicious African cuisine that fueled the whole day
 🌿 Mahaba Moss — for the sea moss gels and iced teas that kept us refreshed and glowing
 🏛️ City of Seattle | Office of Arts & Culture — for partnering with us to make this community wellness event possible

👩🏾‍🦱 Volunteers — for piecing the day together and offering a helping hand

To our vendors and instructors: thank you for pouring your talent, your craft, and your heart into this event. You made it unforgettable.
