I never share anything about the people I work with, that stays completely private.
But I can tell you a bit about my own journey into becoming a therapist… because it wasn’t at all what I expected.
Swipe through for the real stuff I learned (hint: way more about facing my own mess than any textbook ever taught me).
If it hits home, or if you’re wondering about starting therapy yourself, just drop me a message. I’d be honoured to chat or support you along the way. 💙

If you’ve been considering therapy but aren’t sure how to begin, reaching out can be a gentle first step.
You don’t need to have everything worked out or know exactly what to say. Completing the contact form simply opens a conversation about what you’re looking for and whether working together feels right.
I offer private therapy for adults, with online and face-to-face sessions available.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re unsure what to expect.
My approach is gentle, collaborative, and centred around you. Therapy isn’t about being told what to do or having to talk about anything before you’re ready. It’s about creating a safe space where you can begin to understand yourself more clearly.
I offer private therapy for adults, both online and face-to-face.

Many people assume that coaches and therapists do the same job. Others ask me why I don’t offer both.

The truth is that while there can be some overlap, they are two very different professions with different training, roles, and responsibilities.

As a therapist, my work is grounded in extensive professional training. Most qualified counsellors and psychotherapists have spent 4+ years training, completed hundreds of supervised clinical hours, and work within ethical frameworks and ongoing professional supervision before they can practice independently.

Coaching can be incredibly valuable for helping people work towards goals, improve performance, and create positive change. Therapy, on the other hand, is designed to help people explore emotional difficulties, process past experiences, improve mental health, and work with psychological distress in a safe, clinically informed way.

Neither is “better” they simply serve different purposes. Choosing the right support depends on what you need.

It’s not just your body that struggles in a heatwave, your mind does too. Hot nights wreck sleep. Poor sleep wrecks your mood the next day. And if you’re prone to anxiety, a racing heart and sweating from genuine heat can feel confusingly similar to a panic response.
None of this means you’re doing anything wrong. It just means the heat deserves a bit more attention than we usually give it.
I’ve written a full piece on how hot weather affects sleep, mood, and anxiety, and what actually helps.

With the 2026 World Cup underway, I’ve been thinking about Gareth Southgate and the way one painful moment can shape how we see ourselves. Many of us carry our own version of a missed penalty: a mistake, regret or setback that becomes part of our identity. After watching Dear England, I wrote a blog about failure, self-compassion and why we are always more than our worst moment. 🔗 Link in bio

Before I became a therapist, I worked in television. 📺
So when I say that therapy breakthrough scenes are written for drama, not the counselling room. I mean it.
The penny-drop moment. The single session that changes everything. The music swelling as a childhood memory unlocks a lifelong pattern.
It’s great TV. It’s almost nothing like how therapy actually works.
Real change tends to be quieter. Almost invisible until you look back. A conversation you handled differently. A spiral that lasted an afternoon instead of three days. A pattern you finally noticed. Not gone, but visible.

That’s what healing looks like. Not cinematic. But real.

“You’re so strong” can sound like praise. But for many people, it also becomes a role, the one who copes, the one who doesn’t struggle, the one who keeps going no matter what. Over time, that role can get heavy. And lonely.

From a psychotherapist’s perspective, this is something I see often: people who are highly capable on the outside, but quietly carrying a lot on the inside. When strength becomes an identity rather than a choice, it can start to disconnect you from your own needs.

Strength isn’t the absence of struggle. It’s the capacity to be honest about it.

When we’re exposed to ongoing global stress, conflict, uncertainty, economic pressure, our nervous systems stay in a low level state of alert. Over time, this looks like poor sleep, irritability, emotional exhaustion, or feeling switched off.
This is a normal response to an abnormal amount of input.
The goal isn’t to stop caring. It’s to tend to yourself while you care.
💬 What’s been helping you lately? Drop it in the comments.

Awareness got us here. Action is what takes us forward.
Mental Health Awareness Week starts today and this year the ask is simple. Move beyond knowing and take one meaningful step, for yourself, for someone else, for both.
Individual actions. Collective change.
What does yours look like?

High functioning anxiety doesn’t look like what we expect anxiety to look like. And because the coping strategies like overpreparation, keeping busy, and people pleasing actually work in the short term, there’s less urgency to address what’s really going on underneath.

Until burnout hits. Until the exhaustion becomes impossible to ignore.

I’ve written about this properly over on the blog, what it is, why it goes unrecognised, and what genuinely helps.

📌 Save this if it resonates and share it with someone who ‘always seems to have it together’. They might need to see it.

💙 I wrote something longer on this.
The Life Boat reel got so many DMs this week and it stayed with me. You're not alone in this.
I've written a full piece on the blog about why "not yet" might be the most quietly powerful thing you can say when hope feels out of reach. What rest actually does. Why saying the words before you believe them matters.
Link in bio. It's for anyone in a dark season right now, or anyone who loves someone who is.
And if nobody has said it to you today: you're still here. That counts. 💙
