These are the top ten most expensive Hip Hop CD’s from 1996 according to Discogs. There’s a lot of fire here, some of my favorites include Mr Mic Rippa (produced by @junkyardjuju), the legendary Tommy Wright III, Chicago legend K-Smoove and Darkside from Sacramento. What do you guys think of these tracks? Would you cop these? Let me know in the comments #hiphop #djing #dj #undergroundhiphop #hiphopdj #90shiphop #rarehiphop #discogs #hiphopcd by @eprosounds

These are my top ten songs produced by @alanthechemist from the 90s. There’s no denying how much of legend Alchemist is, easily one of the top 5 greatest producers in hip hop history. I wanted to shed light on the beginning of his career starting out as a protege of @djmuggs_the_black_goat_ to producing classics for Mobb Deep and Dilated Peoples. Some of my personal favorites from this list are The Realness (KGR verse is one of my all time favs), Dead End Street and E=MC2. Which songs are you guys feeling? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments! #hiphop #djing #undergroundhiphop #dj #hiphopdj #90shiphop #alchemist #alc #mobbdeep #thealchemist by @eprosounds

These are 10 Party Arty guest verses that you might’ve missed.

Party Arty is one of my favorite emcees of all time and was one of the most respected names coming out of the underground in the Bronx. From his work with D-Flow as Ghetto Dwellas and D.I.T.C to his appearances on classics like Big L’s “Da Graveyard”, Show & A.G.’s “Got the Flava,” Tony Touch’s “The Club”and A.G.’s “Underground Life” he always elevated every track he was on, and is way too slept on in my opinion.

Beyond those well-known appearances, he had a ton of dope guest verses scattered across underground releases, including collaborations with artists overseas.

RIP Party Arty. One of a kind and gone way too soon. 🙏🏻

These are my top ten songs produced by @realdisciple in no order.

4th Disciple is one of the most important and underrated producers in the Wu-Tang universe and hip hop in general. He helped expand the Wu sound beyond RZA, bringing his own darker, more cinematic and militant style to records by Wu-Tang Clan, Killarmy, Killah Priest, Sunz of Man and many more. His production helped define a whole lane of late 90s underground hip hop that is still relevant to this day. Salute! What do you guys think of this list? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments.

These are 10 deep cuts from 2006 every hip hop head should know. I love this era of hip hop and so many dope artists from this time period went under the radar. So many dope tracks here from the likes of Society Invisibles, Raw Magnificent Var from Field Squad (whole album is super slept on), Leaf Erikson from Detroit, Chicago MC’s Hylandaz and Iomos Marad. We also have Beefeaterz from UK and Ghettosocks from Canada. As well as Jayman and Deep Rooted repping for the west coast (Jake One produced Memories is a banger). These are my top ten songs produced by @djpremier from 1990-94, in no order. I’ve been avoiding making this video for a while because to pick 10 of the best Premier tracks from the 90s alone is way too hard. I could make a top 50 at least, so I decided to split the 90s Premier joints into two. To me, Premier is by far the most influential producer in hip hop history. His sound has been replicated all over the world and his style has defined hip hop as we know it today. From 90-94 you can hear how his style evolved year by year, from the early Gang Starr records that emphasized jazz/soul sampling mixed with hard drums to the 93/94 era where he innovated sample chopped beats that resulted in legendary tracks for Nas, Biggie, Jeru and KRS One. When you think of the GOATs of hip hop production and DJing, Premier is always in that conversation. Salute! What do you guys think of this list? Did I leave anything out? These are the top ten most expensive hip hop cassettes according to @discogs. As you can see this list is dominated by Oakland legends 415, who appear 3 times on this list including Richie Rich’s solo debut. We also have a pair of Chicago classics with Farilla G and Black A.G. Also some some New York staples appear here, with KMD and A Tribe Called Quest. The most expensive cassette belongs to legendary French hip hop group IAM with their very rare debut release “Concept” of which only 300 copies were ever pressed. What do you guys think of this list? Let me know in the comments. #hiphop #undergroundhiphop #discogs #rarehiphop #hiphopdj by @eprosounds

These are my top ten songs produced by Tony D. Tony D is one of the most underrated, yet one of the most influential producers in hip hop history. He was the main producer of one of my favorite groups, Poor Righteous Teachers, and also the epicenter of the Trenton, NJ hip hop scene practically defining its sound. You can hear his production techniques and samples used all throughout 90s hip hop. In many ways he was the unsung architect of New Jersey hip hop and an influential DJ on the radio in Princeton as well. Tragically he passed away in 2009, RIP. What do you guys think of this list? Did I leave anything out? Let me know in the comments.

These are 10 deep cuts from 1992 that every hip hop head should know. 92 is one of my favorite years in hip hop with so many classic records being released from all regions. I started off “F**k That Y’all”, which is Ghetto Girlz super dope rendition of Live At The BBQ, the whole album is excellent as well. Then we continue with more Bronx flavor with the underground classic Microphone Check by Lord Ishawn. The next record is For The Record by Original Heads, a short lived group featuring @koolboblove and Adario Strange who was the Editor-in-Chief of The Source at one point. I also included some really dope tracks from Michigan groups Po Broke Souls and Letaz Of Def, whose EP “Point Blank Range” is a slept on classic. I also had to include a super dope Scoop & Scrap joint on here “Non Stop”, many of yall may remember them as being Big Daddy Kane’s dancers. Also, I had to include my favorite song off the legendary “The Hill That’s Real” compilation; The Big Posse “New York Drive By”. One of the more interesting pieces I discovered was Lords of The Underground affiliate Supreme C track “Mad Props” which you may notice sounds exactly like Mad Props by Da Youngsta’s, it turns out that Supreme C was a ghostwriter for them. To finish off the list I had to include one of my favorite joints from this year by The Future Sound, one of the first groups to be executive produced by Damon Dash. These are my top ten songs produced by @djprincepaul in no order. I chose to only have one song per album because if I didn’t then this entire list would just be the first three De La Soul albums and I wanted to showcase a broader view of Prince Paul’s production discography. Every head should know just how influential and important Prince Paul is. He’s one of the few artists that was able to take the structure of hip hop music and expand it to make entire worlds out of it. He pioneered the use of skits, which allowed his albums to feel like whole experiences rather than a collection of songs. His style of production has its fingerprints all over hip hop, through his innovative use of obscure samples, funk collages, and library music. Salute! What do you guys think of this list?
