This is just one of the many stunning Atwood Fur open crowns supplied by @badcowgirlco to add to my unhealthy collection 🙌 Thought I'd keep it simple but strong with a 4 3/4 inch brim; rolled sharp, high, and tight, and went for a classic 4 1/2 inch cattleman creased crown which looks amazing on this piece.

Giving the biggest side eye to my mate thinking a Justin boot box was a suitable hat box. 🙃📦

This beautiful Pecan Hobby Horse Inc velvet fur blend was fighting for its life inside that cardboard prison. It was completely pancaked.

We spent the morning injecting heavy steam into the crushed felt to coax it back to reality. The original Cattleman crown is finally sitting sharp again, and we finished the rescue mission off with a really clean and neat brim roll.

Part 2 is here. I would like to formally apologize to this hat for whatever the previous owner put it through. 🙏✨

But the trauma is officially over. We hit this 5X Resistol Silverbelly with some heavy steam and locked in a razor-sharp Cattleman crown and a classic half taco brim. No more floppy edges, no more dents—just rigid, perfectly shaped vintage felt doing exactly what it was made to do.

Silverbelly is back, but right now it looks like a giant, very expensive marshmallow. ☁️🤠

Part 1 of the 5X Resistol rescue mission was a success. We scrubbed away years of questionable life choices, hit it with boiling steam, and popped it into an open crown to completely reset the felt’s memory.

It's in its awkward phase right now, but this blank canvas is ready for a new identity.

Welcome to my toxic trait: buying cowboy hats that look like they’ve survived a stampede and thinking, “Yeah, I can fix that.”

This latest project just landed on the bench, and it currently has the structural integrity of a damp digestive biscuit. It’s going to take a lot of steam, a lot of sanding, and probably a small miracle to bring this felt back from the dead.
