Health assessments. Healthy food. Intentional training. Real presence in the community. At Public Equity, wellness is not a program. It is how we move.
Because the work of keeping a community safe takes everything out of you, and the people doing it deserve real care, not just a paycheck. We invest in the whole person, on the block and beyond. 🔵

GO WATCH OUR LATEST VIDOE ON MENTAL WELLNESS IN THE COMMUNITY
⬇️⬇️⬇️
https://thetriibe.com/2026/06/perspective-mental-wellness-is-essential-to-community-violence-intervention-not-a-luxury/

Everybody wants to talk about reducing the numbers. Fewer shootings, fewer funerals. But behind every number is a worker who carried that weight home.
Community violence intervention only works if the people doing it are well, not just surviving.
This Gun Violence Awareness Month, that is where Public Equity is putting its focus.

Before the accolades, tend to the roots.

We gathered our mentees and mentors for a brunch rooted in something bigger than career advice, presence, connection, and care. Because at Public Equity, we believe wellness isn’t the reward for success. It’s the foundation.

We closed the afternoon with a floral biology exercise where our young people learned the science behind the bloom, then put it into practice with their own floral arrangements. Hands in the earth, minds in the moment.

Grow whole first.

This morning we received the heartbreaking news that we lost our beloved Carlos “Los” Wilson to gun violence.
Los was part of our Public Equity family, and this community will never be the same without him.
To his family, we are holding you close. Please keep them wrapped in your thoughts and prayers during this incredibly painful time.
We love you lil bro.

On MLK Day, we hosted a youth symposium centered on voice, leadership, and legacy.
Young people led the conversation as they fully moderated a panel of guest speakers from diverse career paths—each stepping in as mentors for the next generation. We want to thank Ciara, Aisha, Will and Senator Elgie Simms for their dedication to making all of this possible. Danielle, welcome to the team!
This moment, these voices, and these stories feel especially powerful as we step into Black History Month. #publicequity #mlk #community #youth by @equityiskeychi
