It's Brain Fun Friday #BFF! My favorite day of the week.

A farmer has 100 feet of fencing.

He wants to build a rectangular pen against a straight barn wall, so he only needs fencing for three sides.

What dimensions should he use to create the largest possible area? by @eric_m_bailey

We’re quick to assume someone is wrong, difficult, or simply “doesn’t get it” when their perspective doesn’t match ours. But their brain may be processing the conversation through different experiences, information + perceptions. by @eric_m_bailey

t’s that time again… Would You Rather Wednesday!

Every week, I drop a new question to spark conversation, stir up opinions, and maybe even make you think twice.

Would you rather have complete flexibility to work whenever you want, with the potential to be more productive, but the risk of flexibility turning into always being available…
OR
Work a set schedule with clear boundaries, allowing you to completely disconnect at the end of the day, but sacrifice some personal flexibility?

Which would you rather? by @eric_m_bailey

The best conversations don’t always start with an answer. Sometimes, they start with curiosity.

When we stop trying to prove our point and start asking, “What am I missing?” we create room for perspective, understanding + real connection.

That shift can change the way we communicate, lead, and understand the people around us. by @eric_m_bailey

We can say all the right words, give all the details, and walk away thinking we were perfectly clear, but if the person on the other side understood something completely different, did we really communicate?

Great communicators don’t just ask, “Did I explain it?”
They ask, “Did they understand it?”

That small shift can change the way we lead, work, and connect with the people around us. by @eric_m_bailey

It's Brain Fun Friday #BFF! My favorite day of the week.

A bat and a ball cost $1.10 total.
The bat costs $1.00 more than the ball.
How much does the ball cost? by @eric_m_bailey

Tampa, here I come!

Excited to be heading back to the Sunshine State to spend some time with the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority team.

Always a good day when I get to talk about human connection, leadership + how we better understand the people around us, and even better when I get to see some familiar faces at Tampa International Airport. by @eric_m_bailey

It's Brain Fun Friday #BFF! My favorite day of the week.

You are one of 100 wrongly convicted prisoners. Each prisoner is assigned a number (1-100). In a separate room, there are 100 boxes, also numbered 1-100. Inside each box is a random prisoner's number (each number appears exactly once.)

Each prisoner must enter the room alone and may open only 50 boxes. Their goal is to find their own number. If every single prisoner finds their own number, everyone may go free. If even one person fails, everyone loses and is locked away forever.

Before the challenge begins, you and your fellow prisoners may agree on a strategy, but once the challenge starts, no communication is allowed.

What strategy do you use to have the best chance of freedom? by @eric_m_bailey

We tend to think communication happens when we speak.
But the brain doesn’t simply receive words exactly as they were intended. It interprets them through experience, emotion, assumptions, and perception.

That’s why two people can walk away from the exact same conversation with completely different understandings of what just happened.

Great communicators, and great leaders, recognize this.

The question isn’t only, “Did I explain it clearly?”
It’s also, “How was it received?”

Because communication isn’t complete when you’ve said what you needed to say. It’s complete when understanding happens. by @eric_m_bailey

Technology is getting faster. AI is getting smarter. But leadership has always been, and will always be, about people.

AI can help us analyze, automate, and communicate more efficiently. But efficiency isn’t empathy. Data isn’t curiosity. And automation isn’t connection.

The best leaders won’t resist technology. They’ll learn how to use it without outsourcing their humanity. Because the more intelligent our tools become, the more valuable genuine human connection becomes.

The future of leadership may require us to become more human than ever. by @eric_m_bailey
