Got to pen an absolute dream feature for the March Spring Style issue of @robbreport, on the ascent of vintage @poloralphlauren to a genuine luxury good. I had the chance to speak to an all-star cast of dealers, collectors and super-fans including @crowley_vintage, @metropolisnycvintage, @polofiendsunited, @thoroughbrednewyork and @ghostnacekillah (and a shout out to @rlgrails for assisting in some behind-the-scenes research). With five full spreads and photography from @weston.wells it turned out better than I could have dreamed - big thanks to @justinfenner for the assignment! About 10 years ago, I had the idea for a blog called “The Search Continues”, where I could unpack my thoughts on style and other personal obsessions. It only took me a decade, but I’ve revived the notion as a newsletter on Substack, where I’m free to pen a 1,000 word essay comparing Ivy style to the Roman Empire, recount my personal history as it relates to the polo coat, and process my intrusive thoughts about Donald Sutherland’s outerwear in Don’t Look Now. An extremely late posting on the pleasure I had contributing to the September style issue of @robbreport with a feature surveying the current custom tailoring landscape in the U.S., centered on new and rising makers including @angelramos.ny, @j.mueser, @haitch.usa, @ralph_fitzgerald_ , @factors_collection, @tailorskeep, @richfresh and @fayadtailors. And a big thank you to @justinfenner for having the confidence to give me a while 14 pages to fill, which proved an easy task considering the cast of characters I was assigned to cover. by @eric_twardzik

A very late posting of my work in the seventh and latest volume of the lovely @valetmagazine, which was themed around sex. A natural contrarian, I penned a few thousand words rejecting the premise of sex appeal entirely, and encouraging men everywhere to dress like spiritual octogenarians in baggy corduroys, earthy tweeds and non slim-fitting oxford shirts - which, if you’re into that sort of thing, may even have a sensuality of its own. by @eric_twardzik

Thrilled to share the latest edition of the @poloralphlauren newspaper, which I had the privilege of working on over these last few months with @jayfielden, @michael_hainey, @shannonadducci and many more talented contributors. As one of the least athletic people ever born, its theme - “A Sporting Life” - was not my usual beat, but I greatly enjoyed learning and writing about everything from the history of polo (the sport!) to the idiosyncrasies of Wimbledon and the sporting heritage behind some of the most iconic Polo pieces. The latest in my interview series: a conversation with @eric_twardzik on taste, travel, style, hotel bars, proper shoes, and why the best things in life rarely need to announce themselves too loudly (or maybe even at all).

We talked about heritage, authenticity, temporary rituals while traveling, the places worth returning to, and the difference between what is merely desirable and what is actually worth keeping.
