“Your boundary need not be an angry electric fence that shocks those who touch it. It can be a consistency of light around you that announces, ‘I will be treated sacredly.’” — @jaiyajohn

Yesterday, I held my first Body, Breath + Word workshop. While the gathering was open to everyone, it feels serendipitous that it became a circle of women.

Everyone who showed up (minus one in the group photo) brought such open hearts and a willingness to be vulnerable. I was reminded that this is how safe spaces are formed. Not by forcing connection, but by creating room for people to show up as they are and meet one another with care.

Today, I feel grateful and more aligned than ever with the path I’m on.

I wrote more about this experience, womanhood, our shared experiences, and the power of softness in my latest Substack. Link in my story. ❤️

What happens when we slow down enough to notice?

I’m inviting you to spend an afternoon finding out. 🤍

Body, Breath + Word is a two-hour experience combining gentle movement, breath, guided expressive writing, tea + conversation.

We’ll move + breathe. We’ll write from a few guided prompts. We’ll have some tea, and gather together to share and listen.

You don’t need to consider yourself a writer or yogi. You don’t need to share anything you write. There’s no right way to do it.

Just come as you are, with a notebook you love and some curiosity.

Sunday, October 11 · 1–3 PM
Southern Crystal Company · Old Hickory, TN
$35 early bird through September 30 · $45 after

I’m an okay singer and an okay guitar player (I’ve only been playing for a year and a half). But honestly, it’s not really about how good or bad I am.

I sing because it feels like excavation.
I play because there’s something about tugging on strings that feels good.
And I write because it’s probably the most vulnerable way I know how to express myself.

Maybe I’ll keep writing songs. Maybe I won’t.

But right now, in this season of my life, this is what feels good to make. Just because.

Every week, I sit with women in different forms of recovery, all survivors of their own stories. And despite everything they’ve lived through, they have chosen hope—not because they believe everything will magically work out, but because they believe in themselves.

The passing of @dollyparton this week, alongside this season of life I’ve found myself in, feels like a push from the universe to keep chasing the light.

To believe in myself.
To dream.
To go after what I want, unashamedly.

Hope isn’t about knowing what comes next, but choosing to believe there’s still something worth moving toward.

A little reminder that I LOVE photographing food because food is my favorite thing. ☺️

The colors, the flavors, the textures, the smells… there’s just something so special about the whole sensory experience of food. And even better when it brings people together around a table.

Food ❤️ Community.

It’s always an honor to photograph @arnoldmyintbna’s creations. Food with roots, history, family, and heart.

And how does it taste?

Somehow even better than it looks. 😎

A new poem from a recent poetry night. The theme: courage. ✨

#spokenwordpoetry #yogapoetry #expressivewriting #courage #intheflow by @ericalynncreative

Yesterday I had one of those days where I wondered why some things just don’t seem to be coming to fruition.

Feeling down about work. Worried about money. Asking myself the why question over and over again.

But then I take a moment to zoom out and look at how far I’ve come.

My family and friends. Therapy. Support groups. Finding new creative outlets. Moving my body. And, most importantly, allowing myself to finally feel all that I once carried.

I’m now teaching two things that have been pillars in my own healing: yoga and writing. Helping others on their own journeys.

And doing so fills my heart and heals a little bit of me, too.

I’m grateful for all that I have—and all that I don’t.

Because I’m learning that not everything I once thought I needed to feel whole was actually meant for me.

In so many ways, this is just the beginning. 🤍
