My go-to hydrating & soothing barrier serums to use with tretinoin — and they’re all acne safe 👀 I’ve been using these three serums for YEARS even before starting tretinoin & they never do me wrong. I actually didn’t realize the Avene cicalfate intensive serum was $40, but honestly I still consider this a more affordable option compared to other higher end luxurious/medical grade products. Histamine intolerance CAN INDEED make acne worse and this is not talked about enough!!! And yes this occurs more so in women who have cycles. There is a direct correlation between histamine and estrogen. Histamine spikes make us produce more estrogen, and estrogen can trigger histamine release. It is a vicious cycle. So taking a daily Claritin or Zyrtec for acne is absolutely worth a try because not only has it helped decrease the number of breakouts I get but my periods have become more regular which has actually been life changing by @ericanic0le
