Back from the European ramble with new feathers in my hair and on my feet, and as summer swoons toward Equinox there are a few final summer offerings to weave with you. I am especially excited for my new Cumulus offerings with @lexicon.light which combine live instrumentation with looping, world field recordings, immersive lighting design, ecstatic poetry and group meditation… Our first offering will be this Sunday evening at Matagiri in Mount Tremper, NY. Seriously touched and delighted to hear from so many of you upon this emerging spring swelling. Stunned by how many heartful, diverse, and interesting people I am constantly in collaboration, communion, and conversation with through my work and wanderings. Getting ready to drop my Spring schedule and spinning in the wonder of what is in store ~ art installations in old mills, convergences of mythic intent, living stories carried in bodies, and songs from strings and souls — as well as young hawk talons, hoofprints in clay, interwoven nests, and black bear skin drums humming.

Stay tuned, and know the horizon holds French countryside estates, secret concerts, and two 51-foot sailing vessels on the Aegean.

Seems I am not that far from the Heron Man after all… The moons they fill and empty, the careful yet relentless ladling of time in and out of our lives. The crises reign, and yet we still cannot help but create beauty, create islands of sanity in a sea of pain.
.
This past cycle held me singing and spinning as the Heron Man in ritual-theatre meets feast of @dream.awakens, and back on the hallowed paths of the @omegainstitute for my annual residency as meditation faculty, and with slow hands on quiet water of the Northwoods.
.
At Omega the clear redwood boards clothe a Zen-ish pagoda sanctuary in tall oaks, rolling waves of stone within. Impossible to share how this continues to sculpt, mirror, and invite the sincerest reflections and sharings of my own journey sitting and studying my own awareness, my own mind and heart as the one true body.
For it is in times of trouble that our practices earn their keep, not necessarily on the cushion, and I’ve seen a couple troubles in my time.

This last moon also held a trip to the far north woods in a wooden canoe, to where Thoreau wrote about his own troubled times, paradox, violence, extraction, conundrum, and crisis, over 175 years ago. Strange how it can be heartening to hear there has never been easy times … To say the deep time and quiet waters of the Northwoods were inspiring is a severe understatement. Moose lapping lake grasses in the longest light on quiet lagoons, where silence is a monumental force, a potency of presence only known when a sound cuts it.
.
So I am planting seeds now, wild mint seeds, and blueberry seeds, although we can’t help but lay rhizomes as well and at once: next summer, 10 days, deep time, quiet water, and a series of deepening questions amidst that mystery.

Seven years since I woke and climbed to offer breath daily within the 1500 year old Ancient Greek acropolis water tank. The practice of daily rhythm, geometry of a pattern language, repeated designs in time, ritualized inhale and exhale over the singing tongue of the flute.
.
This year I will travel first to France, land of my mother tongue and womb, to teach of the rituals of presence, practice, passion, repetition and attention. We will gather to create, reflect, and embody the practices of yoga, Thai massage, ecstatic poetry and somatic storytelling in an old French Manor house in the countryside. I will offer an evening concert of songs and stories, singing in English, telling in French. We have a wonderful group assembled, and still a few spaces left. I will be joined by the incomparable @hudsonvalleythaimassage and @my_om_nature . All the seasoned diamond cut cleanly for 15 years now in the rough of these times where social media gurus are birthed from weekend workshops.

Then onto the azure waters and sun kissed lands of Greece for a series of ritualized offerings to land and sea, god and goddess, peace and war, birth and death, breath and deathless.

Peace and perseverance to you, and I wonder how our paths will cross in right timing ~
