For a school project this year, nine-year-old Jimmy Gallagher had to use a fruit or vegetable to create a character from a book or movie. He used a pumpkin to create Freddie, from The Famously Funny Parrott. I happen to know Freddie personally, so I passed along the photo. Here’s Freddie’s response:

Ah, Jimmy, your photo gave me a good laugh. Which was nice because I had just had a bad one. You see, I was reading a comic book in my easy chair when I threw back my head in amusement, and—well, let’s just say I got quite a bump on the old pumpkin!

Have a great day with many good laughs in it.

I have been posting so much about my show these last weeks, and meeting so many new people in-person and on here in the process, that I thought I'd mix it up and share one of my former projects: a children's author.

I have two books out, The Famously Funny Parrott, and the it's sequel, The Famously Funny Parrott: More Bird-Brained than Ever!

For any potential fans out there, please get in touch if you'd like to know more about the books! They've been described in @kirkus_reviews as "“The Wind in the Willows meets Wodehouse’s Jeeves and Wooster in these short stories.” Take that as you will! by @ericdanielweiner

The @edfringe is over but reviews keep coming in for My Life is a Sonnet. A huge thank you to @northwestenduk for this wonderful review.

After one of my last shows, an audience member approached me to talk about the show. He said he was a reviewer but that he wasn’t there to review the show, he had just come in because he had a free time slot. He then posted a review that makes me feel so good and so seen.

I love that a busy critic with just a little time to spare, instead of resting, squeezes in another show—clearly he’s someone who truly loves theater. And with this kind of thing happening, it reminds me that I do too. So thank you, Al Carretta.

My wonderful brother Jon and my fabulous sister-in-law Deb @dheiligman (who took this pic) flew all the way to Scotland to support me. Having an older brother and sister-in-law who are so proud of me for putting myself out there, it means so much.

On to the final few @edfringe performances now, hope to see you there! by @ericdanielweiner

Most nights at @edfringe, @natstandiford and I end our day with a trip to the pub at the end of our block. The first night we went there, as we walked in, a group of people from Edinburgh called us over. One of their group was a young father whose girlfriend had just given birth to his first son.

"My partner's a very independent person," he explained. "She ordered us to get out of the hospital room and give her some time to herself. So we're here celebrating." He insisted on buying us drinks. I felt as if at long last I had entered a Richard Curtis movie.

(By the way, the pub encourages locals to bring their dogs and has head shots of local dogs all over the walls.) by @ericdanielweiner

Who knew it would be so hard to put some stickers on a poster...?

Since I got a five star review, I'm supposed to go around add the big stickers to the posters. But first of all, it's very hard to find the posters. And then, the first one we found, it was high up on this wall next to the road. I tried to climb down there, got halfway, started to panic. Natalie called me back. She reminded me that she did the balance beam in gymnastics and walked down there no problem. Then it turned out that the sticker I had given her had only four stars. Apparently, one week into the festival, I can no longer count to five. by @ericdanielweiner

Big thank you to @allanoo121 and Raz Cunningham for inviting me onto their podcast @makintoons with fellow guest @ericdanielweiner. We had a great time chatting about why making preschool animation is often harder than writing for an older audience.
