We won! I won!!! A moment for pause, reflection and gratitude: On Sunday February 4, 2023 the 66th annual Grammy Awards were presented. The announcement was made that the opera Champion won in the category for Best Opera Recording. I am proud to bring to life the character of Benny Kid Paret and the role of Benny Jr. son of Benny Paret. I am so thrilled that this incredible performance was recognized by the recording academy with this exhilarating win!!! It goes without saying that I’m so excited and most grateful to say I won a Grammy along with the Brilliant Terence Blanchard, the Extraordinary Yannick Nezet-Seguin, my Wonderful colleagues: Ryan Speedo Green, Eric Owens Latonia Moore, Stephanie Blythe, Chauncey Packer, Brittany Renee, Paul Groves, Krysty Swann, Tshombe Selby, and many more!
