Was lucky to spend time in Michoacán with artist @polagusti as he prepared his first body of work.

“SISTEMA MICHO” began as a series of black clay chairs, tables and altars, produced in collaboration with artisans in Michoacán, where the material for the objects is sourced.

The clay is subjected to an exacting sequence of long in-situ processes, extended over several months. Developed after the death of a close friend, the idols are the output from the exploration of grief, loss and permanence.
