Midwest Deer Season Set Up

I’ve always appreciated versatility in a platform, and that’s exactly why I love the T/C Encore. One frame, multiple barrel options, and it’s ready for whatever hunt is next. The new picatinny rail by @tcarmsco adds even more versatility so I can trade my scope from barrel to barrel just as easy as switching barrels. These two barrels are chambered in 360 Buckhammer and 50 caliber muzzleloader for when I travel to the Midwest to deer hunt. I had a CDS dial by Leupold made for each barrel with my custom load. Deer season will be here before we know it!

The T/C ENCORE

One of the most versatile firearms ever built. One platform, endless possibilities. Truly a gun for all seasons.

Whether you’re chasing big game with a rifle, turkeys with a shotgun barrel, hunting with a muzzleloader setup, or heading to the range with a handgun configuration, the Encore adapts to the season and the pursuit.

What configuration would you choose?

Muzzleloader Pre-season Prep

Every year when summer comes along I get really busy with guiding. I hate the feeling of being unprepared for hunting in the fall. Over the years I started spending the long Alaskan winters working on different projects. Whether it be working up a new load, getting sighted in, or putting together an Encore with a new barrel. It’s a nice way to break up the long winter and then all I have to do is verify the zero before I go on a hunt in the fall.

360 Buckhammer ENCORE

Last deer season I needed a straight walled deer cartridge for hunting the Midwest. After doing some research I settled on the 360 Buckhammer. I was so excited to get a new @tcarmsco ENCORE barrel in the chambering!

T/C Hawken Muzzleloader Hunt

Last Winter I had the chance to take my @tcarmsco Hawken 50 caliber Muzzleloader on a deer hunt in Iowa. I got to hunt my old stomping grounds where I grew up. It was a very nostalgic hunt! I used 90 grains of black powder substitute and a 385 grain Hornady Great Plains Bullet.

Muzzleloader Range Day!

Checking the zero on my T/C ENCORE 209x50 for the Alaska muzzleloader proficiency shoot at the end of the summer. Also had a chance to test out the 340 grain T/C Bore Strike ELD-X. I can’t wait to try them on moose!

Muzzleloading for Moose

Which 50 caliber @tcarmsco bullet would you use for moose in Alaska? 290 grain or 340 grain?
