“Life is a vast movement”- J Krishnamurti I once had a dream that I was floating through space. I got to see Jupiter and the the Rings of Saturn up close. There was still was a sense of stillness and movement at the same time. The dream felt real and a part of me thinks it could have been.Photographing Megan, the dancer, was real but it felt like a dream. Watching so closely that time slows down, and at the same time it’s all happening so fast. These images showcase some peak moments but we worked in every direction, capturing classic beauty, power, strangeness, somber and even silly moments. We worked in complete freedom. Three local musicians and their guitars. Sessions with musicians always feel like a conversation with Brian Eno or Rick Rubin. We always go deep into the creative process, musical influences, finding parallels in our crafts and how we seek balance as artists. We meet and inspire each other. For me the images become keepsakes and memories of the experiences I’m granted as a photographer. For the artist they become album covers, gig posters and hopefully have the same sentimental value of capturing a moment in time for them.Many thanks to the artists (from local to the world stage) and collaborators who reach out and have continued to reach out over the years. These portraits are from a private commission last year. I’m very selective on taking these commissions, but it was a good fit and when I arrived, I realized I already knew Don from Martindale (1st photo). I was made to feel right at home, even enjoyed some birthday cake with family. I felt truly connected. In addition to capturing the group family photos, I leaned into my expertise of the single portrait. I showed up early and while people were arriving and settling in I would take one person aside and spend a few minutes with them. I left feeling full, and not just from the cake. I know the value of these images will only increase over time. Once again, stay safe out there. And remember, Love is real, and it is truly a greater power. Don’t give in. by @ericmphoto

I’ve known Nay and Claire since 2013-ish. I’ve had the honor of witnessing their creative process and journey as musicians (you’re listening to one of their songs with @hikesmusic ). I’ve traveled with them, ran through the woods under the moonlight with them and have watched their love grow. They were joined together last March. It was beautiful. Because we are surrounded by a community of artists and we are constantly collaborating, they asked their creative guests to capture the wedding. With half a dozen professional photographers, several amateurs, and disposable cameras everywhere we all pitched in as a gift to our beautiful friends, whom we all consider family; the bride and groom. I might have positioned myself strategically a few times, but I didn’t run around like I was working… for the most part I just captured what was right in front of me. These are a few snaps and portraits of my experience there. Love you Nay and Claire!!!2 for 2 on my schedule for posting images.Books are open to bookings and commissions! In August 2024 I stopped working in photography almost completely, saying no to any and all assignments that didn’t excite me. I started two other artistic pursuits, oil painting and music (more about that later), all while running and growing a local business in San Marcos (@kuksoolwonsmtx )In 2025 I was feeling rested and ready and found my beginner mind in photography again. The first assignment I took was just outside of Abilene, TX. @kaylamiracle and @darice.chavira over at @texasmonthly sent me to photograph @the_moonrocks during their songwriting process. The band pulls inspiration from grunge to country. Western Space Grunge is what their fans call it. Whatever it is, it rocks!It was a challenging shoot because of the tight rehearsal space and time, but it was really fun and it’s always a gift to watch people do what they do best. These images capture some of the in between moments and some of the portraits. Had to include the one with the cat casually strolling byAnyway, I share stories and posts sometimes, but I’m really terrible about posting stuff myself, so I’m trying to put myself on a schedule. As I’m wrapping up the first two projects of 2026 (photos of a dancer, and of a musician), I’ll be sharing some of the seen and unseen work of 2025.
