Someone must be tired & feeling the cold , since he usually won’t keep a blanket over him , but tonight let me tuck him in ,to keep him all warm & snuggled up. Without anything out of the cover expect his big head. #wintertime #rottie #blanket #love. #sleepingdog by @erin_1721

When the puppy dogs toy box gets an upgrade with a personalised photo of him / photo credit to @a_suburban_werewolf who always gets the best , goofy , smiling photos. Even managed to line the crown up on his head!

My big beautiful boy. Such a cutie , sleeping with his paw against his face so he feels like someone’s next to him.

It doesn’t squeak anymore but it’s still his favourite! Every night he will find his pink tennis ball & since he hurt his leg he will throw it for me to fetch , instead of me throwing it for him. Lazy or clever?
I thought I trained him but seems he has decided to train me! #rottie #cleverdog #happyboy #fetch by @erin_1721

My poor puppy dislocated his elbow a few days ago & his collar has been rubbing on his neck , making a sore spot so he’s now on antibiotics & pain meds . Plus a supplement the vet suggested as it looks like he may have dysplasia need X-rays to confirm that. He takes the tablets easily but the liquid pain meds he hates the syringe & spat a dose out straight into my face , worked out to add the liquid to a spoonful of yoghurt makes giving that to him easy.
He is starting to feel a bit better on day 5 now of the pain meds & antibiotics. Started the supplement today it has good reviews so hopefully with the two weeks of loading tablets we see a big improvement & his limp improves.
Also adding some more foods into his diet for anti inflammation.

1st attempt at making our own rope dog toys today!
$3.00 for some rope & now we have 3 new dog toys to play tug of war with , this will keep the big boy happy 🐾🪢
most of the rope toys cost around $15 - $30
I’ll check out some you tube Knot tying tutorials & try to get creative with some inexpensive ways to entertain a play , we already have a few different styles & unlike balls there hasn’t been a rope yet that this puppy hasn’t wanted to play with.

I didn’t think this big boy would still be able to manage to curl himself up to sit on his favourite footstool but somehow he still does!
6 months ago he was starting to run out of room (2nd pic) but his stubbornness has shown that he is determined to make it work!
He has fallen off a few times cause he can’t move once he’s laying down on it now
Wonder if he will still try to fit in another 6 months

Better late than never … happy Halloween from the big scary black dog - who found this pumpkin bucket with all the empty pot plants & decided to carry it around for the past few days!

New toys cause he’s a lucky boy that the pet shop has nearly always got some great toys on sales / mark down.
So when there’s a bargain on the kong range & it’s has got all the favourites things in one toy , a tough ball , tug ropes & even squeaks I know it’s going be loved , a lot of fun & entertain this big baby so it’s worth grabbing to give him a surprise.

Love how he has to find every angle & head position to hold it to shake it around but he’s so gentle that it’s easy to take photos of no violent shaking until he works it out 🤣

This was less than half price today & when he likes a toy he makes sure that he doesn’t destroy it (unlike the hard tennis balls that he has to rip into pieces cause he hates them but still has every single Kong squeaky ball that he got as some of his first toys!)

Bunnings plastic toys or dog toys from Kmart , or the supermarket get torn to shreds , he makes it a mission to rip the squeaky parts out then won’t stop until the whole toy is in tiny pieces - but a toy that he likes he will play with it & not seek to destroy.

Got to keep him entertained just like a little kid.
