The Making Of: Round Four Runway
Scroll to come with me on the journey of these outfits

#drag #dragcostume #dragracedownsouth #dragking #dragqueen

This was the inspo I was working with! Something beautiful, fashion forward and most importantly, black and red.

When looking for ideas for the costumes and what I wanted to create, I found this one video of @thehausoftisci and fell in love with the colour scheme, the fashion and the way they matched yet were their own complete looks. I also loved many of Robert Wun's pieces, which served as looser inspiration, alongside the femme fatale that is Morticia Addams. I also wanted to include roses, a symbol of love and beauty.

I strived to create two different outfits that could live within the same world, belong to the same collection, instead of just creating two matching outfits.

The Making Of: The Gown

I made this gown in 4 days with no prior experience sewing and let me tell you. It was a JOURNEY. I actually made an entirely different dress two weeks prior, which later I chopped up to create the sleeves of my own costume instead, because the fit just wasn't correct.

This dress however was made from mostly salvaged and repurposed fabrics. The red fabric was previously a fitted bedsheet, the lace sewn to the gloves used to be a dress, the zipper in the back from a skirt that didn't fit. The gloves, tulle, necklace and cane were all hand rhinestoned. And that skirt? I made it way too long, then tried to just double layer and hem it, and almost made it too tight to wear. Whoops. I'm also grateful no one could see how I attached all the tulle, because it was sewn TERRIBLY, but what you can't see can't hurt you.

I am grateful to my makeover partner for persevering through my crash outs, making her take on and off the dress so many times so the fit was just right, and all the pinching, pulling, holding, and walking lessons.

The Making Of: The Suit

Noticing a pattern in these photos? That's right, I was losing my damn mind. Every progress photo sent to the judges as proof of doing it myself featured a big old middle finger. This outfit was ALSO made in 4 days, and featured a mix of repurposed and new fabrics.

Round four: Makeover and Design Challenge!

Runway was inspired by vampires, severe French cunty bobs and giant fuck off sized hats. Everything you see on that runway was sewn, rhinestoned, and created by my two hands!

The performance was Grease of course! A mix and choreography created specifically to accommodate different levels of ability on the stage, something that actually sits very close to my heart.

I will be making separate posts to go into all the glorious details soon, but for now, get excited for the GRAND FINALE! NOVEMBER 13TH AT LALALA'S WOLLONGONG!

A huge, unbelievable amount of gratitude for my mother @erin_1721 for stepping into the role of makeover partner and I'm so proud of what you brought to the stage. You did incredibly, didn't let a single thing hold you back, and looked beautiful doing it. I said it to a few people but for this round, I didn't care if I won, was safe, bottom two or eliminated, because I was so happy and proud of what we brought to the stage.

Mum's finally joined three generations of drag performers in our family, and looked brilliant doing it too. Long live Miss Conduct!

My baby / second adult child is 25 today born at 11.30pm on a Saturday night and been making his sister scream since the moment he was coming home from hospital , always climbing trees & independent , dressing up and playing with costumes & experimenting with makeup , such an individual & unique , like every parent I’ve always wanted my baby to be happy & healthy & would do anything to support & love him - he also did save my life back in 2021 & 10 days ago his best friend helped me in a medical emergency where I ended up in ICU & Im home now with a care team but I’d love to make his dreams come true & have top surgery. He’s had amazing role models like his godfather @mattygee_pt who has been around for so many milestones & shown you it’s ok to be yourself , loved that we managed to see him on our last ciity visit & today we managed a little afternoon tea on the lawn in the sunshine which is huge as Toby’s not a fan is sun but he wanted me get some sunshine & time with all of the kids cause they mean the world to me , they are my world
To see him face challenges and discrimination really hurts but to not be able to get the surgery that will help him in so many ways is something I’d love to see him achieve , It will be life changing for him & make me so happy to see him happy & living his best life! So of you can please check his page & go fund me cause every little bit helps 🏳️‍⚧️🖤🦇🧛🏼‍♂️🎩 #proudmum #transmum #dragking #happybirthday

25 years ago my baby came into the world @a_suburban_werewolf our family were selling the nightclub / bar we had Annie’s bar - most of our resident drag queens 1st time they got to appear on stage as Oxford st & the imperial , Taylor square , the toolshed all had their resident queens so Annie’s Bar quickly became home to some amazing queens & was winning Diva Awards for multiple categories , one of our beautiful queens Chelsea Bunn/ Anthony a very talented seamstress & costume designer had decided start the @houseofpriscilla which opened in 1999 on Oxford St , the owner Anthony had previously designed & made many dresses for my family for the diva awards , weddings & custom designed communion & confirmation dresses fully designed by my kids! Now in the drag industry my 25 year old “baby”is a drag king @sinn_vicious , & I won a shopping spree at HOPso naturally I wanted to give it to Toby. Seeing Anthony we had a wonderful time looking at all the glitter , sequins , makeup wigs & accessories & lucky we did it because I ended up in ICU & Toby dropped everything to be by myside in icu and didn’t care that his birthday plans cancelled
Toby transitioned years ago now & has been on testosterone for 5 years , but it would be good to stop compressing his chest daily ,for his shoulders , ribs & breathing & have top surgery. As a kid & teenager he loved swimming , surfing , yachting , snorkeling but hasn’t been comfortable in his own body to go in the water , beach , pool , ocean a few times we’ve been to the waterfalls but for a kid who grew up in the water coastal suburbs I’d love to see him get back out there & help make his dreams come true
If you are interested in supporting a young man who working hard . Plus rocking drag industry& even hosted his 1st sold out event in July , if you would like to help him achieve his dreams check out his go fund me & instead of gifts any donation will help & be greatly appreciated. I’ve been in icu
Link is in his bio - as his mum being able to treat him to some costume pieces was really special & a full circle shopping at @houseofpriscilla seeing Anthony after what must be 17 years at a reunion put on by all our 👑

This has been a total game changer!
I got some containers with a handle , labelled them & with the @stephpaseplanners meal planner magnetic we’ve created our own “hello fresh” style dinner kits ,
cleaning out the fridge is now super easy each week it takes less than 5 minutes to wipe everything out & discard any food that is leftover & 5 minutes to create the meal kits for the week , write them onto the planner making it easy for everyone here to know that everything you need to make dinner & what we are having each night / what to make.
It’s made grocery shopping (online click n collect to save time & also stick to a budget) Meal planning , meal prep so easy that I wished I had of done this ages ago.
Even marked out containers for any left overs to be eaten first , extra dinners , lunch meats , a salad bar (subway style!) , even a container for food that’s labelled not yours (older kids order food & get annoyed when someone else eats it or it gets lost in the fridge & forgotten about) sauces , cheeses & condiments all easy to find nothing hiding in the back of the fridge that will get forgotten about or knocked over , making a mess.
I haven’t ordered dinner to be delivered in months (so also saving money there)
Way cheaper then any of the delivered to the door meal boxes (we’ve tried most if not all of them when I was recovering from surgery or on crutches & couldn’t stand in the kitchen)
I’ve even started getting more creative & finding recipes to use up any leftovers & making meals that I haven’t before - fried rice last week with the leftover roast pork & rice that wasn’t all eaten when we had butter chicken.
One of the Best ideas I’ve had to make the house more organised & easier for the week.
I love 💕that this is working so well & making a difference in time , money & our overall health. Also made more space in the fridge
Next weeks task is to work out a better setup for the freezer to maximise the layout & be able to make some larger meals for those nights were we don’t want to cook but still enjoy a homemade meal that doesn’t time to cook or clean up after.#organised #meals #family #mealkits #savings #healthy #planahead #food #mealplans

Morning tea with friends, tea , freshly made scones & coffee.
I took over a pea & bean seedling as a house warming gift & my beautiful belle sent me home with a pomegranate tree & dragon fruit cutting.
Miss being neighbours but so glad we became friends & still catch up. #friends #coffee #morningtea #scones #plants #gifts

Sundays are for Meal planning , meal prepping & putting together meal kits.
We used to get hello fresh which made it super easy to have the correct amount of ingredients , no waste , no thinking about what’s for dinner that night & no missing ingredients , plus we cooked meals that we wouldn’t usually make.
Now that the costs have increased the kids & I came up with a way to make dinners easier so a few weeks ago I brought these containers labelled them up with days of the week now we work out what we are going to hav each night & add what we need so everyone knows what’s for dinner & can start cooking.
Especially since we have so many recipe cards from hello fresh & our magnetic meal planner chart from @stephpaseplanners
Saves time , money $ & energy. #family #meals #easy #mealprep #mealplan #mealkits #recipes #organised #savemoney #nofoodwaste
