Foraine explore le système de son comme un nouveau territoire et présente Mary and Lamb, un objet analogique patiemment développé qui renoue avec l’héritage audiophile québécois. Pensé pour la manipulation directe et pour l’écoute consciente comme vecteur d’attention, il propose une relecture de notre rapport à l’outil technologique et questionne le rituel d’écoute.

⁣
In this presentation, I revisit Jonathan Sterne and Tara Rodgers’ notion of the poetics of signal processing (2011) through the history of biofeedback music and my own artistic practice. I argue that biofeedback complicates conventional models of signal processing by placing living bodies, emotions, and social relations directly within the signal chain. Drawing on feminist science and technology studies, I use biofeedback as a lens through which to examine contemporary computational systems and their claims to immediacy, authenticity, and access to experience. Rather than attempting to resolve the distance between lived experience and its computational representations, I treat this gap as a productive site for research-creation.⁣

My studio for the next week. Writing new work in France for small chamber ensemble, voices and electronics on the subject of consciousness and perception before birth. Long tail research with @ladauphinais about what it means to care.

There is no internet access in this studio but the hot June temperature is moderated by the stone of this 16th century farmhouse. The work is different than what I've done before: it is sludgy, physical, and really material. Might be the thickness of this atmosphere soaking in. taken in Ariège-Pyrénées by @erin_gee_

A Year of Deep Listening - MIT Press 2026 - 480 pages. Edited by Stephanie Loveless. 365 scores for listening in celebration of the legacy of groundbreaking composer Pauline Oliveros.

My score for Intimacy Alphabet can be found in this book - a book that reads as a flowering community nourished through deep listening and the work and thought of American composer Pauline Oliveros. It is a cool book for exploring through participative sound making too :3

I made Intimacy Alphabet during the pandemic, when I was thinking about how scores might provide a meaningful way of sharing participative art over the internet. What does it mean to listen to intimacy through sound? What is the language that can be assembled from shattered pieces?

[Table ronde] 🤖 Dans la cuisine de l’IA créative : une conversation ━ Le Chantier IA, à l’origine du projet « Many many agencies », invite celles et ceux qui créent avec l’ #IA et interrogent l’agentivité des machines — leur conception comme nos interactions avec elles — à une discussion croisant amateurs, artistes, professionnels et chercheurs.

Présentée dans le cadre des Rencontres interdisciplinaires #RI2026, cette activité s’inscrit dans une série qui aborde l’IA comme un outil à « cuisiner » : une pratique faite d’ingrédients hétérogènes, du prompt à la subjectivité des usages, jusqu’aux modalités de conception de ces agents artificiels.

L’activité se conclura par une présentation de l’artiste @erin_gee_, qui examine l’IA à travers un prisme sonore.

🍴 What Goes On in th Kitchen of Creative AI: A Conversation

Chantier AI, behind the project “Many Many Agencies”, invites those who create with #AI and reflect on #machineagency—its design as well as our interactions with it—to join a conversation bringing together amateurs, artists, professionals, and researchers.

Presented as part of the Interdisciplinary Encounters #HIE2026, this event is part of a series that approaches AI as a tool to “cook with”: a practice made up of heterogeneous ingredients, from prompting to the subjectivity of use, to the ways these artificial agents are designed.

The event will conclude with a presentation by artist @erin_gee_, who explores AI through a sonic lens.

I feel quietly honored to be featured on the cover of @neural_mag

Inside you will find an interview with me talking about machines, bodies, voices, emotion, and biofeedback. And my collaboration with @maguimolinari 🤍

The images come from a performance at Sussurra luce festival last October with my latest work in biofeedback, voice, deeply idiosyncratic electronic music, and verbal suggestion. Witnessing the performance of @poemproducer (whose approach is rigorous, sensitive, and disarming) was wonderful. The whole event shifted how I think about what it means to share music with others, also maybe how much I love music itself.

Moments like this when your practice becomes "documented" reflect back not only the work, but also the conditions that make it possible, and what these unique conditions create in the world.

Back home in Montreal, I am increasingly aware that whatever satisfaction I find in my slow and very intentional practice is sustained through a network of exchange with others. The attention, generosity, and critical presence of my community continues to inspire and challenge me, and makes the sometimes vulnerable and anxiety-laden aspects of art making feel like a fair exchange. I create moments that are personal, fragile, and sincere in that space. Thanks for listening.

My hand gestures aren’t choreography—

During my performances I often gesture shapes and lines into the air directly in front of me—shaping breath, tracing, giving form to sensations inside me that usually stay invisible. Sometimes I imagine that I am touching the listener's psyche. These gestures are inspired by hand movements I have seen in ASMR, but I have been thinking about how the visual languages of ASMR don't work the same when I am a small body on a stage, far away.

The gestures create alternate pathways for rhythm or pattern: through somatic empathy, the listener might be able to use these gestures guide sound, emotion, and physiology into the same space.
