The start of High School and 7th grade! Scarlett gets her cousin at her school finally! And our pup is very sad her favorite playmates will be gone all day. Wishing them a school year full of fun and good challenges! by @erinbsorenson

13! Today (tonight at 10pm actually😘) this girl is officially a teenager! She will be the first to say she has the teenage attitude but she is so much more. She values looking out for others, loyalty, and kindness. If anyone in the house is not feeling well she is the first to care for them. She loves art and architecture and has big opinions about my design choices. Her emotional intelligence challenges all of us but we know we are better for it. I hope The Summer Scarlett Turned 13 is your best yet ❤️🎂❤️ by @erinbsorenson

Today you are 15!!! I am so excited for you to experience this year ahead…. You will learn to drive, start high school and just become more amazing everyday. There will be challenges but I think you will face them with humility and confidence. You exhibit kindness to all around. I am very very proud of the young man you are becoming.15 years ago changed my life for the better by becoming your mom! by @erinbsorenson

June brought us across the pond to make amazing (and very hot 🥵) memories in London and Paris. Witnessing Scarlett navigate her first time in Europe was so cool. We got to be big time Harry Potter nerds, say hi the King, be the last one on the Eiffel tower when it closed due to heat, make macaroons, oh and Scarlett’s minimal French has zero American accent and she kept being served wine (she is 12!). I will cherish this time with her, my mom and our Auntie Doe forever by @erinbsorenson

Not so humble brag! This evening Tristan was recognized for a 4.0 all three years of middle school, his dedication to Video Production class but also he was one of 6 (out of 350) finalist for the Lions Award. An award that is nominated by all the teachers to recognize an 8th grader’s exemplary character and enduring effort in academics, leadership, and service. We are beyond proud of the young man he is becoming! by @erinbsorenson

4:00am alarm for 5:30 check in…. Our girl ran her first race! She saw the sun come up over Long Beach harbor and light up the Queen Mary. But Scarlett was our Queen today! Seeing your kids master fears, make goals and then decide to make bigger goals….. best part of parenting! First 5K and now she is talking about the OC Marathon in May. Where ever your feet take you we will have an embarrassing sign to cheer you on! by @erinbsorenson

Labor Day… the calendar mark of summer ending. Be we know it is the start of locals summer. You will still find us sneaking down to get our feet sandy. by @erinbsorenson

Both in middle school! 6th and 8th. I hope Scarlett knows how lucky she is to have her big brother there with her. I feel like I’m on fast forward in life right now by @erinbsorenson

12! Happy birthday my Scarlett! You are my gem, beautiful, shiney and strong with some sharp edges as we enter this next phase of life. I LOVED celebrating you today with birthday pancakes, our traditional present scavenger hunt, shopping and your first real spa day. I am so grateful for you my Missy Moo by @erinbsorenson

14! Happy birthday Tristan! May this year bring you lots of adventures. And may you always carry the joy captured here with your birthday pancakes. You are my heart walking on the outside. I love you so much… by @erinbsorenson

Deserves a permanent spot… finally grabbed the book from one of my fav designers @railiclasen and BONUS I won the fabulous Eames hook at DWR! Her livable, organic, fun style always puts a smile on my face. Thanks @sloaneprovenza ! by @erinbsorenson

Christmas Gift unlocked! Gave our girl an LA day with Griffith Park views, a picnic, an accidental tour of Forest Lawn mortuary (we were trying to get to the La La Land bench), convinced The Breakfast Club to stay open to order an early dinner (offering to buy the kitchen staff a round of beers helps) and finally Harry Potter The Cursed Child at my favorite The Pantages! by @erinbsorenson
