Promenade.

Copperplate etching print, with hand drawn figures in historical attire, mythical creatures and forest fauna.

The people are under .5 inch in height; the overall dimension of the print is 5x7.

Blackberry Thief.

This frame was a rare find, and I’ve had it for a few years now, waiting for the right idea to come. A few weeks ago, it did. A hare in blackberry brambles with a sprays of roses springing from a goblet.

Often the images just arise, with perhaps a few details to work oyt. This one came from snippets of folklore. The cup from Grail legends and sacred springs. Hare and blackberries stories of the beings and places where the boundaries of the mundane natural world borders the magical.

Pretty much every time I make art, it is for me—even if I do end up selling it. This is the first painting I’ve done this year—let’s just say I’ve had challenging circumstances—and I’m pleased it went well.

First time having dinner guests in my temporary home; first freshly harvested chanterelles of the season. I made chanterelle escoffier soup and used it as a base for risotto. My desk was transformed into a table and the guests brought their own chairs.

It was worth the effort :) by @erinsledd
