Calling 1984...we had a good time. I'm pretty sure I was skipping class to make sure someone was still in line at Peaches or Turtles records to secure our tickets to @defleppard or @vanhalen or @prince or @springsteen or @thejacksons or @benatargiraldo .... there were so many great concerts in 1984 and we went to all of them.
Tonight we had a mini reunion/gathering of high school friends at our old stomping grounds @athenspizza . I know we all say it but it really is crazy how fast it goes. I'm lucky I got kicked out of public school and ended up with these folks at DCA.

There's the image you get with a selfie as a 5'3" poet. Then, there's the group shot that shows so much more. Thanks to Prof. Carmen Kennedy-Saleh, her students, guests, the Diasporic Writers Collective, and Associated Students Org for making my reading at San Jose State University special.#poetry #Black writers, #Black Lawrence Press
