The “flow” between art & design - Eruba By: @adaoraae
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Eruba is a word inspired by the idea of ‘flow’, a concept that captures the heart of creativity. Inspired by Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Eruba Designs is built on the belief that art, design and all other ideas begin from within. Just like the curvy, fluid lines that shape contemporary design, creativity isn’t rigid; it moves, evolves and takes many forms. This page is dedicated to showcasing that ‘flow’ across art, design and beyond. #erubadesigns by @erubadesigns

Meet Nicole Adaora Enwonwu (@adaoraae), a designer exploring light as emotion, memory, and presence.

At SaloneSatellite, Nicole presents a body of work that goes beyond illumination, using light as a way to express feeling, identity, and cultural memory.

Her sculptural lighting piece, Ànyánwụ́, meaning “sun” in Igbo, is inspired by the abstraction of a woman in motion not performing, but celebrating life in all its complexities, both its beauty and its tension. This idea allows light to move, shift, and respond like life itself.

Watch her story and discover how she is shaping a new language of design through light.

IFẸ́, meaning love in Yoruba.

This piece was inspired by the traditional game Ayo and what it means to me.

A game I played growing up with friends and family, where moments of gathering, conversation, and presence shaped my understanding of love.

To me, love exists in togetherness and connection.

IFẸ́ translates this idea into form. A side table that integrates the Ayo board directly into the tabletop, with a central section for snacks, allowing the experience to remain uninterrupted.

This prototype was showcased at Design Week Lagos 2025 and developed entirely in wood as part of the design’s material exploration. The piece continues to evolve through different material expressions, including a glass variation and an all wood version with brass detailing.

Eruba is a space where memory, culture, and form meet. Dm for Enquires💛 #erubadesigns #furnituredesign #ayogame #ayo #mancala #sidetable #prototype #designweeklagos #lagos #design #creative by @erubadesigns

“Lost in a Whirlwind.”

This piece reflects the delicate tension between perception and reality. The first image portrays a woman caught within a storm of her own thoughts, her reflection blurred inside a whirlwind, symbolizing how easily the mind can distort and overwhelm.

The second frame shifts perspective. She sees herself clearly in a mirror, revealing that the whirlwind she imagined was all in her mind. It is a meditation on how our thoughts can twist reality, showing that the chaos we feel is often within us, not around us.

As AZUKA reminds us, our past and experiences shape who we are. This piece reflects how facing what we have endured rather than getting lost in it allows us to grow, heal, and move forward.
