POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Traklife has evolved quite a bit since we started back in 2012.

What began as a platform to give DJs and emerging artists a voice has grown into something with a much bigger purpose.

For years, our focus was on creating opportunities for artists to be seen and heard. And while that still matters to us, we’ve come to realize that there’s a bigger picture worth contributing to.

Somewhere along the way, music started being talked about more in terms of streams, algorithms, engagement, and numbers than the craft itself.

And while those things have their place, we believe music deserves more than just attention.

It deserves appreciation. Context. Meaning. And people who genuinely care about it.

That’s the direction we’re building Traklife around.

A music culture brand and community where artists, DJs, music lovers, and creatives can come together through a shared appreciation for music.

Through our events, media, curation, and documentation, we’re creating spaces to discover music, experience it, understand the stories behind it, and recognize the people contributing to the culture.

We’re not moving away from artists. We’re expanding the mission to include everyone who gives music its meaning.

Because music culture has never been built by artists alone. It’s built by the people who create it, share it, experience it, and keep it alive.

When art & music bring people together, it’s definitely a beautiful thing. Collaborative energy and artistic appreciation is felt.

Because music doesn’t need to be discovered through an algorithm and community doesn’t have to only exist behind a screen.

We created a space where we can share that connection and energy. Where you can discover new music and find new art, all the while maybe meeting someone new.

That’s exactly what we wanted Music As Art to be like. A place where music, film, art, and community can coexist in the same place.

Thanks to everyone that came through and special shoutout to the Rizo Gallery and Los Ruano Gallery for hosting us.

We’re doing it again with more visual art, live music, featured film, and a thriving community because…

Music Videos go well beyond just promo. When done right, they give a song a visual language while also expanding on the artist’s world. It creates mental images of how we remember the music.

For the next Music As Art event, we’re putting that artform in conversation…

THE ART OF THE MUSIC VIDEO
featuring David Aure of Aww Films

We’re goin in with none other than director and producer, David Aure, to explore the creative process behind translating sound into image, the relationship between artist and director, and why intentional visual storytelling still matters in an era driven by short-form content, algorithms, and AI.

We’ll also experience a selection of Aww Films’ work on the big screen and hear the stories and creative decisions behind the visuals.

Because if music is art, the world and context we build around it matter too.

In addition to the featured conversation and screening, the night will include live music, DJs, visual art, and community throughout the Rizo Corp Gallery.

MUSIC AS ART: The Art of the Music Video
Saturday. Sept. 12
7pm-11pm
At the Rizo Corp Gallery
719 S. Spring St. Los Angeles, CA. 90014

RSVP in the link in our bio.

Come for the music. Come for the art. Come ready for the conversation.

Before the film uploaded onto YouTube…

It was experienced in an art gallery filled with artists, creatives, and a community that came together to celebrate one simple belief: Music is Art. Art Still Matters.

At our Music As Art event, we premiered the first of our series Traklife Portrait with our first featured artist, Alfred Nomad. This was a night that wasn’t just about watching a film, but about honoring the story behind the artist, the creative process, and the community that makes it all meaningful.

From the opening introduction to the final conversation with Alfred, the gallery was filled with reflection, inspiration, and a shared appreciation for what music can become when it’s experienced with intention.

Now, we’re honored to share that experience with all of you.

Traklife Portrait 001: Alfred Nomad is now available to watch on our YouTube channel. We hope it moves you the way it moved everyone who joined us for its premiere.

Watch the full film through the link in our bio and let us know what resonates with you.

For one night, a gallery became a place where music was experienced with the same care, context, and intention as every other art form.

From the paintings and drawings on the walls to the live performances, the premiere of Traklife Portrait 001: Alfred Nomad, and every conversation shared throughout the night, Music as Art became not just an event but a reminder of why we do what we do.

To every artist who shared their music, every creative who trusted the vision, the DJs who set the tone, every guest that came through the doors, the Traklife team with the hospitality, and our incredible partners at @rizocorpgallery for opening your doors to this experience… thank you.

This night affirmed something we’ve believed since day one:
Music is Art. Art Still Matters.

And if you were there, thank you for helping bring that belief to life. This community continues to prove what’s possible when people come together around a shared belief.

This night was only the beginning. by @ervin.is

Do albums still matter? It’s a fair question in a world built around playlists, algorithms, and endless scrolling.

But some projects aren’t meant to be consumed one song at a time. They’re meant to be experienced as a complete thought.

In our latest Space & Sound conversation, Alfred Nomad reflects on the making of his album Until I Get Home, Take What You Can Carry and why intentional bodies of work still have a place in today’s music landscape.

Music moves fast. Meaning takes time.

ā€œI can’t recreate this.ā€ Yet the song still made its place in the album as the most raw moment in the entire project.

In this conversation, Alfred Nomad shares the story behind ā€œRed Lines & White Walls,ā€ a recording born from an artist residency in Ghana that was never meant to become a finished song.

Sometimes the most powerful art isn’t the most polished. It’s the most honest.

Watch the full Space & Sound conversation with Alfred Nomad as we explore the stories, experiences, and creative process behind his album ā€œUntil I Get Home, Take What You Can Carry.ā€

Culture is built through ideas, intention, and the work that happens long before anyone sees the final result.

This tee started as a simple belief:
Music Enabled.
Community Powered.

Not because music exists on its own, but because every scene, movement, and culture is shaped by the people who show up, contribute, create, support, and participate.

This one is for…
The artists.
The curators.
The organizers.
The listeners.
The believers.

This is a look at the process behind our first tee and a reminder that meaningful things are built one step at a time because…

This is not about the Traklife brand.

This is about the people who still believe music is more than content.
People who know community matters.
People creating, documenting, preserving, and pushing music culture forward instead of just pushing it through algorithms.

Music Enabled.
Community Powered.

From Los Angeles to the World.

By popular demand, our Community Tees are now available for sale.
