What if the key differentiator behind every high performing team isn’t strategy or talent... it’s synchrony?

Dr. Michael Mannino and Erwin Valencia are the Co-Founders of @syneurgy, and they are using neuroscience and AI to measure something we’ve never been able to quantify before: whether your team is actually in sync.

Not agreeing. Not getting along. In sync.

And here’s what surprised me most in this conversation: Collaboration isn’t a soft skill. It’s a biological state. And with the right tools, it’s completely trainable.

If you’ve ever walked out of a meeting wondering why it fell flat, this episode will give you the answer.

Trust and safety are not the same thing.
And confusing the two might be costing you as a leader.
In this clip from Episode 14, @erwinvalencia breaks down a distinction that stopped me in my tracks:

Safety is the foundation, the environment where people feel secure enough to show up.
Trust is what gets built on top of it, earned through vulnerability, consistency and genuine connection.

You cannot shortcut to trust without safety.
But safety alone will never build a real team.

This conversation sent me straight to „Super Communicators“, because what Erwin describes is exactly what Charles Duhigg unpacks: the ability to synchronize not just our words, but our brains and hearts through the way we communicate.

When that synchrony happens, in a boardroom, a locker room, a men’s circle, something shifts. You stop being a group of individuals and start functioning as a team. Decisions feel different. Conflict feels different. Performance feels different.
This is the work I am doing right now in the men’s circle I run and every session reinforces it:

The quality of your communication determines the quality of your connection. And the quality of your connection determines everything else.

What are you doing to build both safety and trust in your team or relationships?

Have you found yourself chasing something that’s always just out of reach?

Trying to find that deeper meaning, or driving towards that bigger goal.

I was very lucky, as I almost lost my life along the way.

This is a reminder to my self that riding this bright and beautiful and most special of moments is a gift.
