Trust and safety are not the same thing.
And confusing the two might be costing you as a leader.

Safety is the foundation, the environment where people feel secure enough to show up.
Trust is what gets built on top of it, earned through vulnerability, consistency and genuine connection.

You cannot shortcut to trust without safety.
But safety alone will never build a real team.

This conversation sent me straight to „Super Communicators“, because what Erwin describes is exactly what Charles Duhigg unpacks: the ability to synchronize not just our words, but our brains and hearts through the way we communicate.

This year I have the pleasure to train for Stark Naked, a body composition transformation charity fundraiser. I decided to support @autismspeaks because of my little brother who grew up with a learning disability. I felt like this organization was close to home and was the only logical choice. I was lucky enough to train 3 of my students last year and 4 students this year for Stark Naked. We are about 9 weeks away from the end and these last few months have taught me a lot as a coach and a student. There’s still more work to do but I’d like to thank @tayhalll for keeping me mobile, @testodderone for creating this awesome competition, and all of my students who are both competing and not competing in stark naked for pushing me and holding me accountable for this process so far. More to come.
