Parlor Palms the album is streaming in full everywhere today! It’s all been about this: the album. A collection of 20 songs that I wrote and recorded over the course of 2024. It’s a genre bending, life affirming, comfort album. It’s music with a capital M for people who are thoughtful.

It is extremely hard to be heard over the sound of collapse and trauma TV. But there is a respite and it comes when you are safe and happy and comfortable.

I will reshare anyone’s social media reviews. You are my street team. Tell your friends and coworkers there is comfort available on Parlor Palms.

You are my people. Thanks for all the support, and the biggest thank you to the musicians and friends who collaborated on the record and live shows. Thank you for the confidence and support! by @escapists

There are places you can be free, part 3 (final).

Rome is a museum of humanity. A collage of time. Billions and billions of lives have constructed their own reality in these streets for thousands of years. They came and went in a blink of an eye, and we were there for only a short time. Wars are fought and monuments are made. Gods are made and forgotten until you accidentally find them 1000 years later under the graffiti of today. Realities are stacked up in layers for you to count. What is today is not yesterday and certainly won’t be tomorrow. taken in Trastevere Roma, Italia by @escapists

There are places you can be free, part 2.

We took a train from Switzerland to Austria, and then a bus to the border of Italy, high up in the Alps, to meet our long-time best friend Andrea (he was the best man at our wedding and was there when Susan and I first began dating). We biked from the top of the Alps for five days through the Venosta Valley’s Medieval walled towns and castles, 100kms of apple orchards, and discovered a prehistoric settlement from the Bronze Age, ancient Roman settlements, an irrigation trench system that is one of the world’s oldest instances of human ingenuity (UNESCO World Heritage sites for miles).

This valley is where Europe bike treks, the culture is so huge and the infrastructure is made for bicycles. Bike cafes and farms.

We rode down from German speaking Italy (before WW2 this valley was German Empire and still is 99% German), swam in glacial waterfalls, felt safe and secure away from the world in our valley kingdom. by @escapists

There are places you can be free. Last month @su_su_sudio went to Switzerland and I was shocked by how intentional, careful, thoughtful, and beautiful their society is. It’s expensive to be free, though.

We always make a point to visit National Museums so we can understand a little bit about how the people think and what the culture is based on. I haven’t stopped thinking about it since. The Swiss consider their founding “fathers” to be Henry Dunant (saw the horrors of wars and created the Red Cross), Philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Jean Calvin (Reformer). We visited the estate of Carl Jung (founder of Analytical Psychology) where he and Freud and Einstein and Hesse would discuss the human condition alongside a beautiful glacial lake. Switzerland is a place for thoughtful and intentional people to excel. I would move there in a heartbeat if I could. taken in Lake Zurich by @escapists
