I’m very good at holding things.
Space. Responsibility. Other people’s stories.

I’m learning to lean.

To enjoy a moment without needing to make something of it. To feel the sun on my face, the earth beneath my feet, and let that be enough for a while.

There is so much I still want to experience. Pages I want to write. Places I want to wander. Whole afternoons I’d like to leave unplanned.

I want to give more of my life to actually living it.

And sometimes that begins here.
Shoes off. Back against a stone.
Giving myself a minute to take it all in.

Share a pic of how you live well✨✨✨

The Art of Living Well

There is something profound and wonderful when you step away from your everyday life.

I am always impressed and in awe with what life reveals to me through days of intentional pauses. It’s more than escaping for me and more about being in a state of receptivity. Who have I become in the typical humdrum of doing and performing?

To wander is to make room for the unexpected:
A new friendship.
A conversation that lingers.
A belly laugh. A
morning with nowhere to rush.
Quiet moments with myself to listen to my heart.

And sometimes, in the midst of simply enjoying an unstructured day, we discover parts of ourselves we haven’t had room to meet.

This is the beauty of retreating that I love. Going slow to rediscover myself. Not to become someone else.

But to return to the hearth of my heart, nourished by beauty, rest, adventure, and community.

This November 2027, we’re gathering at Nômade in Tulum, Mexico, for a few days of wandering together.

The invitation is to come, receive, and rekindle the embers of your heart.

November 11–16, 2027 | Tulum, Mexico

8 slots left.

THE ART OF LIVING WELL | 01

This picture was taken in Bath, England in a beautiful garden in a park two weeks ago. I found myself sitting on a bench beneath a canopy of green, soaking up the sunshine.

I had no agenda. No place I needed to be. Nothing to accomplish.

I found myself enjoying the simple pleasure of being alive.

Sitting and receiving so earnestly, the simplicity of being, I realized how incredibly worthy I am to receive.

I’ve been thinking about what it means to live well. Not necessarily to have more, achieve more, or become more, but to truly inhabit the life we’re living. To embody it.

So I’m beginning a little series called The Art of Living Well.

And I’d love for you to be part of it.

Share a photograph, a moment, or a few words about what living well looks like for you. I’ll be posting an image for the next four weeks and I would love for you to share as well.

It doesn’t have to be grand or extraordinary.

Sometimes it’s simply sitting in the sun.

What does the art of living well look like in your life?

Ubuntu is a philosophy rooted in southern African traditions, often expressed as “I am because we are.” It speaks to our shared humanity and the ways we shape and sustain one another.

As I reflect on our retreat on the Amalfi Coast in Italy with @jessica_s_bieber , I feel deep gratitude for everyone who joined us.

The sights were beautiful and the sunsets inspiring, but it was the human connection that made the experience so meaningful. Getting to know each of you, listening to your stories, laughing together, and sharing tender moments—these are what I carry home.

There is something deeply restorative about being among people who meet us with kindness, support, and love. We get to soften, to be seen, and to remember how much we have to offer one another simply by being ourselves.

Thank you for every moment of sacred connection, and for the ways each of you became part of my story.

✨✨✨✨

Power comes not from external things but from what sprouts from within.

When we connect with the things that brings us joy it becomes infectious. That is true power. The ability to affect change sometimes only with a smile, a kind word, your presence.

True power is unleashing your joy into the world from your heart and letting it create ripples.

Many of my friends are posting this, and I am following suit: I’m asking those who love the outdoors to post a picture. A picture that YOU took. Just a pic. No description. The goal is to regain peace and harmony without negativity. Ultimately changing the algorithms. Please copy the text, put a picture on YOUR page, and let's look at these beautiful pictures.

The south coast of Italy is pure magic.

She is beauty. Pleasure. Joy. A wild life force that draws you in with the eyes and senses.

It welcomes you to dream the dream of your heart into existence.

Everything here invites you into the heart to live and savor life to its fullest.

Last night we had a most amazing and delicious meal that satiated us to the hilt.
And that sunset!!! Wow!

Just stunning! Those colors out of a painting.

What a great and wonderful life.

Numbers are an interesting thing. I’ve never really cared too much about the increasing number of my age.

I’m in awe everyday that I wake up and get to be part of this insanely wild ride of a human life.

This birthday season feels a bit different for me. Quieter.

I find myself thinking about how I want to spend the mysterious time I have left.

I’ve lived for society. My ego. My mind. Fear.

But now I want to live for my heart. Joy.

We often as women are taught from a very young age to be the caring one, to dim our light so others may shine.

I have zero desire to that anymore.

I’ve been many different women. Each one has taught me a valuable lesson that I’m integrating in this current season of my life.

Now, I want to make room for the woman who desires wildness, raw laughter, dancing with sweetness in my hips, and bringing forth parts of me where I’ve held back.

I don’t know what that all looks like yet. But that is the journey - to explore who I am beneath all the layers of conditioning.

The hardest and most courageous act as a woman is to not be defined by anyone else’s mold of who you should be.

I’m going break all those “should” molds this year.

Thank you for all the warm birthday wishes ✨✨✨. by @eshaestar

Grateful for this tender morning of presence at Dilworth Artisan Station.

We gathered among color, texture, story, and the work of creative hands: breathing, moving, listening, and making room for what each of us was tending.

There was something especially beautiful about practicing in a space devoted to creativity. Our bodies became part of the living art of the building—each person bringing their own presence, history, and essence into the room.

Thank you to everyone who came and helped create this circle of community.

And deep appreciation for the artists whose work surrounded and inspired our practice, including Sarah Hesler, @sarahheslerart, and Brian Williams, @willeigh. It was an honor to practice among your creations.

This is what I hope these gatherings continue to be: a place where movement, beauty, creativity, and community meet—and where we are given space to simply be.

If you haven’t already please support these amazing artist by stopping by the Dilworth Artisan Station during their next art crawl. Information on their website.

These photographs were taken three weeks before my the person I’d spent 24 years with passed away.

I look at that woman now and know something she didn’t, that her life was about to change.

She didn’t know grief was coming.
She didn’t know the woman she had been would soon become someone else.
She didn’t know how much life would ask of her.

But look at her.

She is fully alive. In joy. Arms wide open living life.

She never used the word embodiment or even cared about that. She just lived.

Nine years later the term embodiment comes home.

Embodiment isn’t about being calm all the time.
It isn’t about having mastered your nervous system.
It isn’t about transcending grief, fear, anger, uncertainty or pain.

It is the capacity to stay in relationship with your life exactly as it is.

It is the meet yourself in the unfolding reality that is in front of you.

This woman that I was nine years ago, was full of life. Everything was going her way.

This woman that I am now is also full of life and everything is also going her way.

Life doesn’t stop being for us no matter what we’ve endured.

In the end, it’s up to us to decide how we want to embody it.

It took years of tears, anger, heart splitting apart to come to the quiet knowing that I can fully be alive, in joy, in love, and still miss and grieve my spouse.

I can hold all these things because my capacity for all of life has increased.

I’m not saying it is easy. It is not. Yet life is the great mystery that invites over and again to show up and dance.

Your dance might be wild or it might be a raw wailing with the world. Either way, dance.

We spend so much of our lives preparing for tomorrow, protecting ourselves from what might happen, postponing our joy, waiting until we feel safer, more certain, more healed, more ready.

But life is happening while we’re waiting.

Perhaps embodiment is much simpler than we’ve made it.

Be where your feet are.
Receive what is here.
Let yourself be touched by your own life.

Because this moment isn’t preparation for your life.

This is your life. by @eshaestar
