The risk of failure at @skydance aka SKID is substantial.

Their positive cash flow legacy TV business is fading fast.

The movie business is precarious and expensive on its best days, and now SKID is legally required (by their settlement agreement) to manage their studios separately and release at least 30-32 films every year.

However the biggest risk to the Ellisons are actually the Ellisons themselves.

The fortunes of Skydance, Oracle and The Ellisons are now intrinsically intertwined. Combined, they now sit under $290 billion of debt — all of it classified as Junk or one, small rung above Junk.

The Ellisons now carry as much in debt as Netflix is worth; more than twice the value of Sony; more than the market caps of Disney, Fox, and Roku *combined.*

“These concerns are being reflected in the market, money managers say. The cost to insure the debt of both companies against default has converged and is increasingly moving in lock-step, a sign investors are beginning to treat the two credits as intertwined.”
