This piece is from the end of last year, and it meant a lot to me at the time. It felt like I was processing some of my biggest life lessons and changes as I was sculpting.

I’ve made a waste mold and will be pouring it in plaster soon. Because the mold is destroyed in the process, there will be only one. About 24” tall. DM for price and details.

Painting or sculpture, which do you prefer for this waterfall?

I left a clay board on a rock to heat up in the sun. By the afternoon, I’d finished my painting and the board was warm and ready, so I sculpted a relief of a similar composition.

Capturing the same subject in two mediums taught me a lot about how to use different techniques to create illusion, and what worked in paint versus clay. An exploration I’d like to try again.

I’m back in Seattle for the summer. Just finished up painting with the Hudson River Fellowship in Connecticut and I have a full summer of sculpting ahead of me.

Hoping to make some time for friends and fun. taken in The Hotchkiss School by @esterohman.art

24 inch figure of Thommy, from last spring.

In the midst of summer, I’m yearning to sculpt the figure. As I’ve journeyed through art, I’ve found a favorite. I used to think it was the portrait, but I can’t resist the figure. It’s stuck in my head. My dream is to make this my life after school, somehow.

I head back to Connecticut to begin my second year in a little over a month. I know it will be intense, but I’m ready.

Sculpting Ava in my class. She’s a beautiful soul and I love working with her, although it makes it even harder to capture her!

This pose has me thinking a lot, as I believe it’s about female anger and the use anger holds as an emotion.

Anger is there to protect us from what is harmful and push it away. Personally, I have a hard time connecting to that feeling.

Also ty to @samantha.vauter for her amazing filming, no fingers in the shot 🙏

Sculpture is healing. That’s one of the first things Chad said when we started, and it drew me in.

There’s something about leaving everything in this raw, physical form that I can’t get enough of. I wish I had more time to sculpt, even though we do it all day long.

“Alone,” a quick 2–3 hour sketch of @gesturequeen , one of my first studies in clay. A good memory, one of many more to come.

“Sweet,” a three-hour terracotta study of Sierra.

My other terracotta piece, “Alone,” will be included in Lyme’s Student Faculty Show on June 19th. If you’d like to see what we’ve been creating, please stop by and say hello.

I’m a bit of a marshmallow, I’ve been told by a dear friend.
A sucker for love, and I found a lot of it this year.

This year wasn’t one I expected, and I can’t really put into words how much these friendships have meant to me.
I’ll miss those of you moving onto your next chapters, but I know our paths will cross again.

Lots of love in my heart, and for the friends I haven’t met yet.
See you next year, first years! 🍋‍🟩💜✨

A sunbeam keeps hitting my shelf in the studio, and this girl looked particularly photogenic yesterday. Had to shoot her.
