Walthamstow stuff over at @weird_walthamstow (some Hackney or Tottenham may sneak in.)

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Slightly frustrating day at the plot- I got most of the onion sets in, but I failed to get many poles into the concrete-like ground, so I couldn’t net them properly. They’ll be taking their chances with the birds- we’ll see.

This fellow cheered me up though.

My god, the auction houses are absolutely crammed with goodness at the moment: Freud, Kossoff, Braque, Picasso, Piper, Hepworth, Chadwick, Kusama, Patterson, Gormley, Auerbach, Shiota, Anderson and loads of others I can’t spell. I was so knackered after just Christie’s and Sothebys that I had to abandon the plan to do the Magritte thingy in the Gagosian after being in there for about two minutes. So came home and watched more King Lear instead 😵‍💫

First photo is basically what my brain feels like after all that art. Sparkly but confused.

Shame about the result, but good to see the family. Plus dog 🙂 (Full disclosure, I left at half time. American football is really not my thing 😂)

It’s that time of year when I nearly cut an amphibian in half on the allotment. Last year, frog, this year newt. I guess the toads are already worrying about 2027

Also some afternoon lubrication with good friends (including chilly Claire and Ian looking more Walthamstow than he ever has before), and the last of Ted Lasso.

Quick flit around the WMG, with a few old demons on show. And a visit to Gordon. I’m saying nothing.

Well, that was a nice day. Visited the 90s exhibition given one star by the Guardian, and whilst not as good as the 80s exhibition a while back, it was definitely worth a couple more at least.

Then somehow the planned afternoon karaoke turned into darts, which was really good fun, and with more opportunity to chat.

Rounded off with Traitors and Taskmaster, who needs more?

Mist yesterday, this today. Proper autumn. Too rainy to go out and do much, but had to wander to the GP for a blood test form.

Misty on the way to Yoked. Unfortunately it was clear once there, so no hiding from Grace and Ryan…

Even nuns need a day out.

Quick trip to the V&A cos it’d been a while since I’d been to the Photography Galleries. Lots of bits currently shut, so looking forward to seeing the revamp.

Still more tomatoes from the allotment, Jago doing impressions, and Alan Davies in the evening.
