I feel so lucky to be surrounded by so many brilliant women in my friends and family.

Old friends who are my rock and my joy, new friends who are always there for me and never fail to cheer me up, family who helped me to be who I am, and in laws who are like an amazing bonus family 💖

They all bring me so much support, and also inspire me with their brilliance and resilience 💪🏻

Not everyone is pictured here - but please know I love you all and think you are absolutely brilliant.

January is DONE!

It's always a long, cold, dark month - and a struggle for many of us to get through. I always have an emotional dip at this time of year.

Looking back over my camera roll this morning made me realise that it's the people around me who helped me through it 💖

I've had so much lovely social time (clearly a lot of it with @estherase and @clairethegardenere17 😂) and I've loved every minute.

It always helps to bring me both joy and perspective, and I need to remember that when it's feeling hard to fit in, from a calendar and energy point of view.

So thank you to my brilliant friends - they're not even all pictured here, but if we've spent time together or chatted over the last month, please know that you've brought some light to my darkest time of year ✨

Who's been helping you get through January? Tag them in the comments 👇🏻

In 6 months of training, on average, our members increased their one repetition maximum in the

Bench Press by 5.8kg
Back Squat by 25kg
Deadlift by 15.8kg

Well done everyone! We had over 15 personal bests set today including with our coaches!

Always good fun to see improvements and results with training.

It's A Level results day. I got a D in Art, about 100 years ago. I still managed to get into Norwich School of Art where I did a degree in Illustration. There followed 15 years of jobs that paid the bills, but I always carried on drawing and painting and dreaming... and eventually I ended up with a successful career as a self employed artist and illustrator, with exhibitions in London and Hastings, and the House of Commons, and my own online shop, posting my art all over the world. My illustration tutor Rob Mason told me to "Have the courage of your convictions. And draw, draw, draw." Never give up on your dreams. I still pinch myself every day that I get to colour in for a living!
While at art school we had regular lectures from visiting artists and designers. One day my illustrator hero Quentin Blake came to speak to us, and he was as lovely and brilliant as you can imagine. I wish I'd had the courage to go up and speak to him afterwards! Fast forward 35 years, and my Hastings 2024 calendar was on sale at The Hastings Contemporary gift shop on a shelf next to....a Quentin Blake book. My heart burst with pride 😍
Photos above are of the current Quentin Blake "100 portraits" exhibition at Hastings Contemporary @_art_on_sea where you can draw portraits of others or yourself and add them to the wall. Photo of me drawing @estherase taken by her. Check out her insta she's a fantastic photographer. 📸
