Never really show the rear much. Less beautiful but still pretty interesting I suppose. 😉 I'd like to make some changes to the rear at some point so I can run it without the top case. Though it is pretty convenient as well to store some items like the charging cable. 😁 Also a switch from chain drive to belt drive is something I really want to look into as well. No maintenance, no nasty stuff flying around and onto the frame and pretty much silent. Just needs a few modifications to be able to do that. Maybe soon.

Which EV would you choose on a hot Summer day? ☀️ Some people still thinking about the future, I'm already living in it. 😎 It's always difficult for me to make a choice as both are really great in their own way. I'm just happy not to be paying for gas no matter which of these I choose to take out for a drive. 😁 It's all about having fun! 😃

Bit more playful angles for today. 😃 Happy Friday everyone and enjoy the weekend! 🙌

Some more photos of the shoot I did with both my Tesla and my electric quad bike. I've actually made a seperate account for the quad bike and filled it with some content the last few days. Now I can keep focusing on Tesla content on this one and quad bike content on the other. 😉 Go check out @estreetquad if you're interested to see more of that! 😃

The quad bike and my daily driver, a Tesla Model 3 which I modified just slightly too. 😅 Always great to have them side by side like this, I'm really happy with both of my EV's. 😃 Though there are always improvements to be made. 😉 I do actually have plans for both, though not sure about any exact timeline right now. Main goal with the quad bike for the future is to increase the range quite a bit. Battery upgrade is definitely happening at some point.

My most recent photo set with the quad bike, after I had some fun taking it off road for a bit. 😃 While this quad bike is intended for the streets it actually still does pretty well off road, even with the street tires. Though if I want to do this more often I really should get a set of off road wheels and tires. And perhaps also raise the suspension a bit. But honestly, this quad bike really belongs on the streets so I might just keep it like this and only have some occasional off road fun. 😋 One great thing about this quad bike and going off road though is the complete lack of noise. No one will even know you're there. 😉 So you can have fun without annoying other people, especially at a spot like this where houses are pretty close.

Few more of the same trip, just at a different spot inbetween a small river and a corn field. 🌽 😁

Few better photos of the quad bike that I took about 1,5 year ago when I got myself a dslr camera. 😉 Found this really nice spot up a small hill with a very beautiful environment. 😃

Some photos in a nice forest area about 2 years ago. You can also see something that I added to the quad bike after I got it road legal and was able to test a lot more. Had many problems with the motor getting too hot after just a few minutes of driving. Was a lot of trial and error but in the end I managed to find a way with a pretty hefty forced air solution. This blows filtered air right into the brush area of the DC motor with quite a bit of pressure. This also pushes all of the hot air out through the vents all around the motor. Works very nicely and keeps motor temperature below 70 degrees Celsius. Without it the motor would burn in no time. 😅 It's very enjoyable to ride now, as you can just keep pushing it without it getting too hot.

Some photos of the first actual ride with the quad bike being road legal. 😃 You have no idea how amazing this felt after all the hard work I put into this thing. It was a very long project that took around 3 years to complete and even though there are some things I'd do differently if I'd ever build another one, I'm still very happy with the result. Even now 7 years later, riding this quad bike still makes me feel so proud and happy of what I've achieved with this. Would I ever do another project like this if given the chance? Definitely yes! 😉

So after I got the issue with the vehicle identification number out of the way, it was time to get this electric quad bike road legal for real! Long trip to RDW Lelystad with the quad bike being towed on a trailer. Also had to take a lot of documents with me about how everything is connected and even some sort of user manual that I had to make myself. While their inspection is pretty difficult to pass for an EV conversion I actually managed to do it! Took a few hours and they had to do a test drive on it too on their test track but it actually passed inspection with also a lot of compliments from the people at the RDW! 😃 I was so happy that day. This was actually 7 years ago already and it's definitely been great having this quad bike be road legal ever since. 😉

This was supposed to be it, quad bike all finished up with the fenders, wheels and lights all attached, ready to get it approved for road use at the RDW (our vehicle authority here in the Netherlands). But unfortunately there was a problem due to a mistake on my end and also of the company that sandblasted the frame of the quad bike. The vehicle identification number was gone! It was apparently just barely engraved in there as the sandblasting took it off completely. It was stupid to not cover that area up before sandblasting, definitely a life lesson there. 😅 Had to go to another division of the RDW first to get all the necessary research done and get a new vehicle identification number engraved. This process is usually not easy but since there were so many photos made of the quad bike during the conversion process it was pretty obvious it was still the same frame that belonged to this specific vehicle identification number. So they didn't give me a hard time thankfully.
