POSTS STORIES REELS

Yesterday our head broker, mentor, bandmate, and friend Joel Hobson headed into the great next chapter. I can’t put into words how much I value everything he taught me about real estate and life. I had an unusual start in the business- I remember it clearly. Our bands were both playing Railgarten, and I was told I’d be sharing drums with Joel. When we met, I said something stupid like “Hey I’ve seen you on billboards since I was a kid!” In his Joel tone he replied, “Yep..that’s me!.” I told him that I was interested in real estate- at the time I had been driving around Memphis, studying historic homes and snapping pictures. He said to be at his office Monday at 9am. I showed up that Monday, and after a 2-hour convo about Memphis, music, real estate, and family, he said “Now go get your license!” Joel wasn’t known for hiring people with zero experience and sans-license. Without his unflinching belief in me, I honestly don’t know where I’d be. He took a chance on me, and then for the last 5-6 years, never stopped mentoring and encouraging me to take my business to the next level. He always ended our convos with, “People know you as Graham the great musician, now go show them Graham the great realtor.” Every time I doubted myself, or thought about *not renewing my license, he would tell me that I could get on his level one day. He single-handedly cured my imposter syndrome every time it reared its face; thank you Joel, because today I stand here a confident, educated and capable realtor because of YOU. He came to our weekly office meetings until he couldn’t. He was closing deals at the hospital. The man’s work ethic was unparalleled, but he also had integrity to go with it. Joel (as a great broker should), dotted all the “i’s” and crossed all the “t’s.” He was thorough, honest (sometimes refreshingly & brutally honest), and he valued doing things the right and ethical way. I joined his band “Driver” as the lead singer/guitarist while Joel played the drums. Drums are the backbone of the band. Looking back at pics, I realize now Joel was indeed the backbone for me, my coworkers, his family, and for Memphis, a city he loved so much. Thank you sir, and love always 🫡♥️ by @eternalgrahamnation

☀️ Sun Records Studio!

The causing of it all 💥 by @eternalgrahamnation

What can I say? I am utterly amazed at the amount of kindness and support I’ve been shown this week in regard to the release of my new record. From going on Live TV on @wreg3 w/ @kontji, to the awesome turnout at @bar_dkdc last night, to @shangrilarecords and the @memphisflyer doing write-ups, to @memphislisteninglab hosting an event, to the support of the @blasthabitrecords super team- I’m humbled and honored, and proud to be making music in Memphis, Tennessee. If you want a copy of the vinyl record, get in touch cuz there’s only a handful left! I also want to thank @musicexportmem for helping me finance this endeavor and for supporting all Memphis musicians, and @memphisrecordpressing and team for killing it on the vinyl production. @jacobchurch5 at @jlc_audio once again for mastering, and @lizardbreathbiz your album art is being talked about constantly! That’s a wrap! THANK YOU, FRIENDS ♥️🙏

Hard to describe what a fun time last night was at @gpacluv with @oneafter901. The music of the Beatles truly brings people together, and I/we learn that more and more each show we play. Sold out 1100 tix! The energy was palpable. Added bonus to have my family (two of my nieces pictured) and my parents there (pictured with Doc Finder)! A night I’ll always remember.. by @eternalgrahamnation

Had an absolute blast playing @memphofest with @deviltrain a moment ago. A truly whirlwind week ending on a Sunday playing music with my friends. So much can happen in one week, in one day. I started thinking about that while playing our *one hour set. Thanks to the @memphopresents team for being such professionals and putting on a quality event for all to enjoy. I think this was my 5th or 6th Mempho Presents event to perform at, and it makes my heart happy every time to see so many friends involved with the artist relations, audio/video, photography, merchandising, booking, catering, PR, stage managing and live sound mixing. Thanks again to all involved and to everyone who showed up early on a Sunday to rock with us 🤘❤️ 🚂 #mempho #memphofest #deviltrain 📸 @joshtimmermans by @eternalgrahamnation

Nice evening in Memphis! by @eternalgrahamnation

It’s been a very tough week, so it really brightened my spirits to show the legendary Dave Schools of Widespread Panic around Sun Studio today. He told a story where 35 years ago, he and other members of Panic were recording down the street from Sun. The producer wasn’t happy with the results, so they were able to come to Sun at the last second to track some songs. The engineer probably would have been the late, great James Lott. Such a cool dude. Thanks Robby Grant for the pic! #sunstudio #memphis #wsp #widespreadpanic #sunrecords by @eternalgrahamnation

The multi-talented Seth Moody is bass-guitaring on the road with Arc of Quasar, but Graham will be going on @switchin2glide w/ @lori_mcstay and @andrewgienapp TODAY from 2-4pm to play some songs from “T3” and to talk about the record. Vinyl release show is at @bar_dkdc Oct 9 w/ Hit Parade and @arcofquasar - and it’s a @blasthabitrecords release. So tune into @wyxr_memphis 91.7 today on the radio or their website. You’ll soon be in radio heaven! 📻 🎵 by @eternalgrahamnation

One-man-Graham private show for the lovely folks at @gpacluv tonight. Never played on this particular larger indoor stage before. I remember seeing the original Bela Fleck and the Flecktones here many years ago with the incomparable @howardlevyland absolutely crushing it on both piano and harmonica. Will never forget that night! by @eternalgrahamnation

Loved getting to play a private party at the Baron Von Opperbean site on Mud Island last night. I also loved roaming around and snapping some pics afterward. I’m absolutely in love with that part of downtown and that view of the skyline. IT’S our RIVERFRONT for crying out loud. Every square inch of that stretch of land should be being used and packed with Memphians and tourists alike, every day. Kudos to everyone who is already doing things like the BVO and already involved in trying to bring it all back, especially the Mud Island Amphitheater concert venue. Among many shows I saw there, one I will never forget was The Allman Brothers, right when I was getting into rock n’ roll. My friend Bill’s dad took us and we were really close up (maybe front row). Derek Trucks and Warren Haynes turned those amps “up to 11” and their Gibson guitars hit me in the face and in the soul. I thought to myself, “this…is badass.” And I’ll never forget the notes they played reverberating off the river and the buildings downtown. The rumble of Oteil’s bass and Gregg’s soulful voice soaring over the Mississippi River. We’ve gotta get that venue back. #mudisland #memphis #downtownmemphis #901 #901memphis by @eternalgrahamnation

Those of you who know my wife Erica know that she’s a huge badass. However, her badassery has reached new heights as of late. We’ve been pulling root systems at our house out of the ground since February and removed holly bushes, and Erica has replaced them with a butterfly garden that has become a haven and thriving ecosystem for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. She’s not done yet! Still more to plant. It’s all her vision- I’m just a guy with a shovel! 😂 by @eternalgrahamnation
